That's quite a project to tackle to start off with. Great thinking and creativity to get your plan from an idea, to a finished working piece of equipment is quite an accomplishment. A lot of guys/gals may come up with an idea but get lost in being overwhelmed on how to build it. Just think of...
If they were cordless models I'd say it might be the same as what happened to my cordless Dewalt saw. Ended up having a piece of one of the connectors for the battery being broken. It would work in some positions but not other angles. Pretty easy fix on it, I'd guess it would be a similar...
Should be able to make it with a vise, hammer and a grinder. Flat piece of scrap steel put in vice and bent over with hammer to form basic shape. If you have access to a torch it'd make it even easier to make the bends in the vise. Grind to fit curves and shape to fit correctly. Dril hole and...
Usually the best way to find a builder that you can trust and also do quality work is one that is recommended by a friend or maybe the local small home town lumber yard. They usually know who is good and who is the ripoff.
Asking which type of building is better is like asking what color car...
Built this one out of scrap I had lying around and a few purchased pieces. Wish I had taken time to add bearings to the pivot but will redo that when this project is finished. Just wanted to get something done to get the car on it and get started. Did make it so I could dissemble it and stack it...
I've had to dig out quite a few driveways exactly like that and even steeper here in our area of Ohio. Back when most of these homes were built cars were higher off the ground. The section of concrete in front of the garage can stay but the second and the wider apron section by the main street...
Broken glass on a walkway or driveway? Really???? Maybe if it's tumbled like was mentioned but what happens when those pieces get broken or crushed a bit more, gonna be more sharp edges.
Laying down rolled plastic then pitching it when you can't stand it is by far a better idea and cheap, you...
Seen a couple pretty cool videos lately where they used their 4 poster to raise the roof of their garages and held it there while they built new taller walls and even one where it lifted the roof of their car port while working in their car. During slow times you could rent it out for that. :)...
Yes, put the plastic down then the foam insulation board right over it. Just be careful when putting in the concrete that it doesn't get under an edge of the foam board and push it up.

When I built my 32' x 48' building I had to put in nearly 6ft of 304's or crushers run as some might call it limestone in one corner. It's a mixture of fines, #57's and #4's that really compacts in well. I didn't concrete it for quite a few years and did compact it while putting it in. When I...
Hi, Stumbled onto this site while browsing for ideas for garage upgrades. Am also on the HAMB although my 32 Ford isn't HAMB friendly I still enjoy their site and have picked up a lot of great ideas. Also a member of the 348-409 site.
Redoing my 32 x 48 shop with new insulation and lighting...
