What did you do "IN" your garage today?

It wasn't actually *in* the garage, more in front of it. But changed the IPR solenoid valve on this '99 F350 with the 7.3L Powerstroke. Funny story behind it; a family friend had his '09 F250 6.4L blow up and plans on having me do some work to it. He paid a couple of his friends to tow the truck...

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

Funnily enough, I do not have many vintage Snap-On tools. Most of my vintage stuff came from my stepfathers dad who was a diesel mechanic from the '50s through the early '80s; the majority of what I got was Plomb/Proto, Mac, Cornwell, and Williams. I do have *some* vintage S-O though. The...

Going to be a brand new automotive tech, recommend me some tools.

A good mid-tier brand thst I started out with is Genius Tools. It's a Taiwan company, and i've had great luck with their prybars, wrenches and sockets professionally. Not a huge fan of their ratchets, but they get the job done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ever come across a tool you forgot you owned

Yep. Was going through my tools at home one day and found SAE and Metric double box-end offset wrench sets. Got them on my first big tool purchase back in 2014 and totally forgot I had them. Had to borrow that type of wrench more than once at work... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What brand power tools do the pros use in your area?

On the repair aide, i've seen primarily Snap-On and Milwaukee. My old Matco guy sold Milwaukee off his truck and pushed it more than the Matco stuff. I personally use Snap-On, with some Dewalt thrown in (drill, jobsite blower). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    General Air Tools Questions

For homegamer stuff, that compressor should be more than adequate. I personally would go with a 3/8" hose. You don't really need 1/2" unless your running a 3/4" gun constantly, or even trying to use a 1" gun. There are step-down adapters, but in my experience a 1/2" gun won't ever use the amount...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Love the color scheme on it, wish mine was that color instead of black/chrome. It is blasphemous to have that Snap-On sticker on there though [emoji1787] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Picked these up over last couple of months. Ridgid 20V LED light that you can put in any position. Been wanting something like it for years working in OTR trucks and heavy equipment. Porter-Cable recip saw. Not a big fan of it, but the price was right and I only needed the bare tool (have extra...

    Reciprocating saw

Depends on what you're doing, and what battery system you primarily have. I use a corded Milwaukee 15A for big jobs, and a little Porter-Cable cordless for small stuff (cutting up palm leaves, etc..). Price was right in the PC and I had 2 20V batteries for it already (bought a atarter kit and...

    The DeWalt Addiction Thread

Picked up a little 15-gal. rolling chest today for keeping my field tools in. Had to pick up a nail gun I had in for repair, and they offer 25% off if you buy product with tool repair, so figured why not, need one anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
