Gearwrench 120XP Flex Ratchet Handle Replacement

Nice catch! I'll see if I can snag one cheap around here at the local flea market.

That's a great idea! Ratchet width at the bottom is around 11mm

Gearwrench 120XP Flex Ratchet Handle Replacement

My first gen 120 XP ratchet recently met its match while trying to loosen some suspension bolts. I've emailed Gearwrench, and they've been generous enough to warranty the ratchet. However, I think this head might be saved if I could find a different handle. Does anyone have a suggestion on...

    Junkyard Tool Bag Type Question

Update for anyone that finds this later. I ended up buying a gently used Craftsman tradestack bag off marketplace for less than $50. I used it in my first yard trip about a week ago, and here are my thoughts: The bag still feels a little too big (it takes up a majority of the wheelbarrow)...

    Junkyard Tool Bag Type Question

I've looked at some used Veto bags locally, and I've only heard good reviews about them! I'm primarily looking for a bag that can be closed when not being actively rifled through to help keep prying eyes from scoping out my tools while I'm working under a car.

    Junkyard Tool Bag Type Question

I've heard lots of great stuff about Veto Pro-Pac tool bags, but I didn't see one on the website that would accommodate my hackzall the way I'd like it to (feel free to suggest one if you think I'm missing it). I'm assuming you own one of these already. Do you think a used one would be a good...

    Junkyard Tool Bag Type Question

You're not wrong! My back doesn't hurt when I'm done for the day, but I recognize that it's taxing to carry that much stuff. I've done the same thing you're talking about as well previously (keep extra tools in the truck for later if needed). The yard I go to is so big, I sometimes question...

    Junkyard Tool Bag Type Question

This is primarily a question about what tool bags are out there and what you guys recommend, but I'll also list my loadout for discussion as well. When I make my junkyard trips, I usually take a heavy loadout and plan to work all day due to the distance I travel. Current loadout is a tool...

    Carlyle Locking Flex Head Question

Thanks! I was finally able to get my ratchets apart for greasing this week. I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't follow the plastic bag idea, though. So my first snap ring shot across the shop and I had to looking around to find it. I'm admittedly very new to lubricating ratchets, but I realized...

    Carlyle Locking Flex Head Question

Follow up question. How did you get the snap ring out? I'm interested in regreasing mine, but unsure what the trick is for removal.

If you were given $5,000 free to use towards your shop/garage . . .

I do hobby automotive work. So I could easily spend 5k on some upgrades in my shop Snap-On Tech Angle Torque Wrench set https://shop.snapon.com/product/TechAngle-Models-(2%-Accuracy)/2-pc-3-8-and-1%2F2%22-Drive-Flex-Head-TechAngle-Torque-Wrench-Foam-Set-(Hi-Viz)/ATECHFSET01HV A high end...

    Carlyle Locking Flex Head Question

This (unintentional unlock of the flex mechanism) was my concern when first looking at the ratchet. I already have a set of Gearwrench 120xp flex head ratchets, and thought that some locking variants would be a good set for comparison. I'll take mine apart and hit them with some Super Lube...

    Amazon Black Friday deals

This may be the only time I've seen this Craftsman V-Series hex set on sale. Had to share https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5KBJ33Q/?tag=atomicindus08-20

    Carlyle Locking Flex Head Question

You beat me to the punch. I've thought about taking my ratchets apart to inspect and lube. given your comments, I think I'll go ahead and do that. I'm pretty sure I see the play you're talking about when I handle mine. Here's my caveat, I don't have any high end locking swivel head ratchets to...

    Carlyle Locking Flex Head Question

The lock/unlock mechanism is a slider, but it isn't spring loaded. Honestly, one of the reasons I bought this ratchet is to see it in person since there's very little about it online.
