I bought a blind puller kit off of e-bay a couple of years ago and have used it quite a bit, everything from pilot bearings to wheel bearings on bicycles. The cost somewhere between $50 and $125 depending on how many mandrels come with the kit. They look a lot like that SIR Tools kit but cost...

Are you looking for the filter element or the complete housing?

I don't know if one of the cartridge filters would be noisier or quieter. I believe that the filter size is mostly dictated by the size on the inlet, on this one the inlet is 1/2" and the Solberg #4 is usually spec'd for 1/2" inlet.

I left mine bolted to the shipping pallet as well, but I did put the pallet on a 1/2" thick anti-fatigue mat.
