Yet Another Mr Heater Big Maxx 45k Venting Question

Not really. I had the same problem. The best thing I could do is vent it out the side of my garage which I can see from the street. I could go through the top, but I can see that pretty obviously from the backyard which I didnt really want either.

What is the code for NG lines

I was told by a friend contractor that you cannot run black pipe with mechanical connections inside a wall or other inaccessable area. He said the only way to make it legal is to sil-phos braise it and use copper lines or unspliced copper. running in the studs, you need to be 1 1/4" back from...

Heater vent pipe through cinder block. Anyone have any experience?

I am a big fan of renting a core drill and bit form a rental shop. I did it in a poured insulated wall and makes a clean hole all for about 60 bux to rent for 4 hours.

How to chose a heater size?

I planned on running a 45K unit in my almmost 1000 sq ft garage in MN, Kev. I dont need heat all the time, but want it available. It will also make sure the heat exchanger gets hot enough to not condensate water and prolong the life that way. I dont need it to be 60 in my garage all the time...

Whats with the complaining about Craftsman Ratchets?

I am not the conneseur of tools that most here are but except for a few things like gear wrenches and little odds and ends things, all of my hand tools are craftsman. I have always bought them and liked them. I have broke 1- screwdriver, 1- 3/8 ratchet, and 2- 1/4 ratchet in the last 13 years...

Hard hard concrete. How to attach base plate?

Get or borrow a SDS base hammerdrill and get the appropriate sized drop in or sleave anchors for your plates. I have a Bosch bulldog I got at menards but home depot or lowes for the same price of 200 or so.

Excessive Thimble Gap - Horizontal Venting - Mr. Heater

Is that not B vent going through the thimble? If not, it should be, if so, wrong one? It should be tight (or relatively) going through it.

    Plastic versus metal recep/switch boxes

That because you used the wrong box for the fan. I always use metal, but correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that you used a old work cut in type box to mount your fan. If that is the case, that is a mojor no-no.

    Plastic versus metal recep/switch boxes

I am an electrician and I prefer plastic. Hvae the locate tabs, have nails ready to hit, dont have tpo ground the box. There are lots of advantaged to plastic over metal. The only metal I run is for pipe/mc/ac instalations. If you get the metal boxes, they are more expensive and you need the...
