Keep the tips coming fellas, I’m still a sponge at this point. Ive listened to local suppliers but they dont even know what they are selling. It really is kinda sad
Thank you guys for all the info. I think I’m sold on the straight chimney and exit through the roof. I located the installation manual on their website. Cost isn’t too much of a concern and I sure dont want to go cheap or rush it. Once again this forum proves to be one of the best around.
I need to go through the wall because my ceiling height is 21ft where it would exit the roof. I certainly appreciate the info guys keep it coming , I’m gonna be burning wood this weekend or burning my shop down... depends on how well the install goes haha
I recently purchased a used Vogelzang 2200 SF heater with 100cfm fan for circulation. I plan to install it in my pole barn shop. I know I need a wall kit for 6” but is there any particular precaution I should take since my exterior metal panels have 2” of closed cell foam applied to it. What...
I am not well versed in Security systems. I have looked at several big box kits but none of them supplied the features I wanted nor supplied cable lengths long enough.
The goal I am trying to reach is having a total of 9 cameras both interior and exterior with the ability to monitor them from...
School me on CAT6 cameras and security systems. I am in the process of building a pole barn. I have dedicated half of the building to living space. I have heard from the electrician that CAT6 is the only way to go for rough in of security camera system. Is this true? Do any of you use this for...
It all looks great but Id suggest you take another look at that shower curb. It WILL LEAK. Please do yourself a favor and do a little more homework on waterproofing. Not trying to be a downer but seriously its not installed correctly.
Feel free to PM me if you need some help ironing out the...
I made a cardboard template for the back side of the light fixture and drilled holes for mounting locations. I then used that template to mark and drill holes in the metal ceiling panels and used toggle bolts. It was a breeze and it allowed me to wire the fixtures with zero help from anyone...
When was the concrete poured ? If it was poured in the winter I assume they used calcium to speed up the curing process . Calcium used in excess will make the top of the concrete weak .
That pour would require metal lathe to be fastened to the subfloor AFTER it has been primed , 16 bags total for a total of around 700$ . If you have the time to take up the subfloor and sister new joists in plane and add new subfloor I would think you accomplish it this way for under 300$
For a minimal difference in price you could upgrade to KDAT pressure treated lumber . The process is called kiln dried after treatment. Much better grade of wood is used and it allows you to set the gap you want and ensures no further shrinking .Staining and sealing can be done as soon as the...
Is the current mud bed level or at least in plane with the other flooring ? Worst case scenario you vacuum it and apply an anti fracture/uncoupling membrane such as Ditra and keep 0n trucking . easy peasy
