The unit will do the purging on its own. It will try to light for the first time and if it dont light it will shut off the spark and purge the gas again and try to light again. It will do this 3 times and if it dont light then the unit will go into a fail safe mode and close the gas valve...

I turn my thermostat off and close the gas valve at the heater. I leave it on at the tank. Nothing special, just check its clean and the vent is clear the next time you use it.

Just bought a big triple bay MAC tech series tool box and it has a big made in USA decal on the back with the manufacture date and all that stuff. I have always thought MAC was made in the US.

Ya pretty happy with it so far. Looked up the price of everything from mac and it would of cost me around $11,000 to buy this box new so im real happy with only paying $3500.
