Glad I read this, I currently have a new to me camp/haus compressor that I am about to plum. The specs are: 7.5 hp, 80 gal, 17 cfm at 90 psi, 15.6 cfm at 175 psi. I don't do a ton of work with pneumatic tools but I was planning on running 1/2" hard lines then reduce to 3/8" regulators. The...
Spyderco is the worst company to deal with. After my lock broke on my knife I wrote a nice letter asking them to fix it under their warranty. I received a nice letter in return saying my knife was past it's life and they would not fix it. Their knife life expectancy is 1 year. Their lifetime...
Great work and I only mentioned the ppe because others that may see this thread could think its ok to do the same. I learned to weld at an early age and could weld two razor blades together before I could drive but was always required to wear the proper clothes. Thanks dad. Now that I am older...
Really great work and I was glad to see you wearing a mask while you were welding. I was not happy to see you welding in shorts and a t shirt and there was a picture of you welding with a poly shirt on. I try and tell as many people as possible to use ppe when ever you are working if you want to...
Make sure and line the walls with steel, sand will eat that wood in a hurry. Our booth at work is big enough for a 30 foot trailer and we also do alot of custom wood work in there. Sign makers love it, they block of the areas they want with blast mat and the rest gets removed by sand blasting.
Heat the entire piece back up and let it air cool. It relieves some of the stress around the weld and can help with cracking. You can also bead blast it to do the same.
Inclusions, poor heat signature, insufficient penetration and list goes on. Back to the weld: your off to a great start but try and keep a consistent stick out and a fluid motion thought out the weld. Remember on a fillet as you wash the puddle up an down the filler wire is at a different...
