    Diamond Calk Horseshoe Adjustable Wrench

You could cut the pin with a dremel and use a diamond blade and then put a new slot in.in the end carefully, I have done that. Might be way easier than trying to find a old style 4" pin. -tx-

    Diamond Calk Horseshoe Adjustable Wrench

Nice. The oldest one is the 10-12 due to the USA After Duluth, Minn. likely late 1920's. the others are a bit newer maybe 1930's pure guess. Good luck on the 4-6's old style. -tx-

Who made the best vintage adjustable wrenches?

You are correct and I agree. I also got concurrence from some guys that are still around that worked with my dad. Diamond did some of that contract worked and also made a lot of promotional tools for folks, especially the Handyboy DH18 just to name one. Thx.

Who made the best vintage adjustable wrenches?

To chime in more it's 99% Diamond I have several my dad gave me and he worked for Diamond. Diamond would forge "blanks" then when they did private label runs they would stamp in the names "Fulton", Lakeside" "Merit" for example. This is what my dad told me years ago anyway. -tx-

More than just adjustable wrenches, post up your vintage Crescent tools

Actually it's pretty common on early Diamond 20's wrenches, they are raised letters not stamped in, I have many of them. They stopped I'd guess in the 30's, not 100% sure but once the re-enforced hanging holes started the numbers I think stopped or at least slowed drastically. thx -t-

More than just adjustable wrenches, post up your vintage Crescent tools

My father and grandfather worked for Diamond, to the best of my recollection they said the entire process was done on site at the Grand Avenue plant. I recall a conversation 50+ years ago with them saying something about those numbers being the forge machine number but take that for what it...

    Diamalloy Handyboy Combination Tool

Interesting thread I happened upon here. There was a question early on "if they are rare?". The answer by Woody was 99.99 % correct in "no" with possibly one exception, Diamond did make the "Handiman" with no branding early in WWII that had no Handiman branding only a diamond logo and "Duluth...
