I think I am going to hang from the purlin after backing the purlin with a 5' length of uni-strut. Four all threads down to an "H" uni-strut assembly and then a section of threaded to the unit.

Thanks for the photo. Nice install. I can definitely use threaded rod like yours. I would need to add couplers to extend the length. I would probably do a length to a horizontal unistrut, then rod to the next level.
