I have a chance to buy a used Modine PA150AB but I want to mount it using a horizontal vent line, Is this possible? I realize that type 3 pipe is needed

If I remember correctly the PA is natural draft, no venter motor, vertical vent only.

I am pretty sure your right but could I put an elbow, exit and then vertical for 4 feet? Just don't want to penetrate the roof

Looks like this question was asked and answered on the forum in 2015...but the link to the manual is:

1. Dead.
2. Not even the right heater.

The only safe way to do this is:

1. Find a copy of the original manual for the unit and follow the manufacturer's instructions for venting.
2. Do not install until you have looked the unit over ESPECIALLY checking for cracks in the heat exchanger.

We had a few old modine unit heaters at work from the 1970's/1980's, and without exception, all of them had cracked heat exchangers when we inspected them. Not saying yours is cracked too....but I wouldn't consider mounting it if it is.

You might get away with it.
One thing in the dust bunnies in my brain is the horizontal run has to be under 75% of the vertical rise. So, for example, 7.5 feet horizontal and 10 feet vertical. Less horizontal is better, more vertical is better.
