After a month of calling Liftmaster tech support back and forth, finally they sent me a whole new unit and so far its working.

I was able to speak to a Liftmaster tech support (after waiting on hold for 45 mins) and he said it is the logic board issue so they will be sending one to me. Hopefully if will fix the problem.

I did call Liftmaster today but they need me to be home so they can troubleshoot it and send me a new part if needed. It's good to know they will send brand new unit as a replacement. I actually called a professional garage door guy and even him can't fix my 8500 issue.

I was able to tighten it without removing the opener from the wall. You just need to lift the door so u can access the set screw. Even after over-tightening it, I was able to adjust the limit and force but after a couple of door cycles it failed again. But I dont know if I can get that part or...

No, the one inside the garage opener. Its the small setscrew located next to upper gear.

I was able to adjust it but I think I over tightened it and I can't tightened it up anymore. Any suggestions?

Do i need to remove the opener from the wall or I can just open the cover and adjust it there? Thanks.

I have a Liftmaster 8500 that I installed on my garage and its been working for 6 years with no issues. But recently it started acting up intermittently where it wont close. After it hit the floor it will open up again. Sometimes it takes 3 cycles of up and down before it closes. So I decided to...
