I put one of these Mobile home furnaces in my garage a few years ago. I made the bottom frame out of 2x4's, figuring this is what they used in the mobile home, and had a duct box made at the local furnace shop, I have 3 ducts from the box, 1 to my office, 1 to my pump room, and 1 to the garage...

I built an addition off my barn, the part out of old barn wood, it's finished now, with a cement floor, but I keep both bikes in there.

Like another poster said, go as far as you can. But, I would keep the wall up, and put a garage door on the end, in case you may want to heat it in the winter. It would make a nice work shop.

Sounds cool, let us know how it works. My window unit throws out alot of heat, so that box might get pretty hot, even with an exhaust fan.

I don't see why this wouldn't work, but why the box? I would think a sheet metal box(like a furnace duct) just on the exhaust side, ducted outside would work.
