    Tools of Japan

Got a Mac Tools Penta grip screwdriver from fleet market, the pentagonal shape looks gorgeous. From what I've found on the internet, seems like there's some relation between Penta grip and Rick Tools. I can only find sellers from Japan and they are all super expensive. Does anyone know the...

Anyone have experience or information about this Elora torque wrench? It looks similar to Stahlwille ones, with square tube and quick setting. Do they make it inhouse or OEM from other manufacturer? Just can't find more information anywhere. Wonder what's the mechanism inside.

Maybe this why Wiha collaborated with Xiaomi, to get the secret formula which can produce chinesium. :bounce: The bits in the set are from China and the handle is provided by Wiha, the same issue appears in Wiha's own ESD set. Seems like the quality is not on par with Wiha's earlier product...

Found something interesting about Wiha's ESD handles recently. This xiaomi set has been set aside in my drawer for several months. When I took it out the week before, there's some liquid on the black part of the handle. It smells sour, a little bit like lemon oil. The same problem also happened...

Totally agree. The list price for the No.4 one is $20, so I would expect a serious tool. I don't need it to be flawless, as it's just a tool to use. But the sloppy markings and flawed handle just make me doubt the quality. The Slovenia made Hazet screwdrivers used to be quite awful, with...

Now it should work. Seems like the attachment thing is not working for me. Had to edit the HTML directly to show the Images. Hazet used to ask Witte to make all its screwdrivers. It starts moving to Oplast beginning with 810 series, then 802, 815. Now even 803 "Trinamic" is made in...

Some comparison between different types of slotted drivers. The Stahlwille 3K handle is surprisingly light compared to other screwdrivers of similar size. <img src="picture.php?albumid=5448&pictureid=105893" alt="IMG 20200803 101101" title="IMG 20200803 101101"> <img...

Got some new stahlwille drivers, they are marked as VSM parallel slotted tips. I put Wera and PB there for comparison. Look at the laser marking and defected mould injection, German quality. No wonder even Hazet is moving away from Witte. <img src="picture.php?albumid=5448&pictureid=105889"...

These Swanstrom cutters are really nice. Got some carbide cutters from Swanstrom, Erem and Gedore (Schmitz made), but like Swanstrom most.

I don't see any Elora in your photo, do you have any pictures for them? I've been curious about how these black chromed Schmitz look.

It might also depend on when the screwdrivers are made. I own an old Hazet 806 precision hex screwdriver set made in Slovenia and the quality are ******. I can barely insert one into the screw. But the finishing of the new Slovenia made Hazet 802 and gedore precision drivers are absolutely...

Yes, its jaw is reversible. I have one, only tried it once and it did turn my pipe around. It has some clamping force as the pipe wrench, but maybe not so strong.

Press your account name on the up right corner and find alblum, you can upload pictures there. Facom's most popular locking pliers including T5 series and 501 series slip joint are made in France by Facom's own factory. They have their regular single setting 513&517 series made in Chinese...

Facom seem to make their own 500 & T5 series. They always have different release trigger than Dolex, which from my experience easier to use than the Dolex Version. Beta, SAM, Acesa do have similar Lock grip pliers with Dolex.

Hey guys. I'm visiting Lund, Sweden near Malmö next week. Is there any tool shops/factories around that's worth visiting?
