Garage #2, the little blue warehouse (32x15) - a clean slate!

Then there's the 4 post moveable lift Want sambal with that? Does not need to be bolted down, and fits nicely in the corner when not in (heavy) use. Still dragging my feet a bit about the loft though. Seems I need a few steel beams to support 7ft joists (effectively splitting the loft...

Garage #2, the little blue warehouse (32x15) - a clean slate!

Whoops.. updates long overdue. Epoxy floor completed (pics ****, two tubes is clearly not enough light) The texture is antislip, made by mixing a lot of sand into the epoxy. I would've preferred a bit less, but oh well...

    :bounce::bowdown: Another +1 here, obviously!

    Grunge Garage

I like what I see - I like it very much. Needs more pics, but that staircase definitely looks like you'll be all smiles every time you walk up and down it. That's the kind of thing that keeps you going, and in the right direction too. You've also taken on a number of things at once AND dealt...

That definitely sounds like solid progress. Keep it up!

Garage #2, the little blue warehouse (32x15) - a clean slate!

I'm very fond of my dust-free non-absorbent epoxy floor in the home garage, so I decided not to change the winning team and call the same supplier for this one. I can drop a hammer on that stuff from 3 feet and not chip it - it will only chip if it's hit so hard the concrete under it gives way...

    Grunge Garage

If that's net progress (despite any new stuff you've brought in), then you're good. Trashcans or dumpsters, seven of them should be some progress. However, with every new item you bring onto your lot, think about how many more trashcans you need to fill to compensate. That's off your net...

    Across the big pond

@Bronson: Only difference is my vehicles have a few more wheels each ;) I've put up some pics in my gallery threads. I know - needs more pics... The sailboat is a 25 footer by the way, just enough for now - I see an upgrade in the future, but buying the second garage ate up my funds for a...

Free standing loft construction - all wood?

In the new storage shed, I'd like to install a free standing loft. Platform size will be about 14' x 16', designing for 40 lbs/sq ft live load, 10 dead. That adds up to a total of about 11,200 lbs gross design weight, or 350 pounds per foot of the 16' support beams. A standard construction...

What are the average single car garage sizes around the world?

There's some truth in that, but it's about a century behind us ;) Current property taxes are based on market value only. Frontage tax is the same category as window tax. If you see old buildings with few/tiny windows in Europe - that's why... but that too is a long time ago.

What are the average single car garage sizes around the world?

While you're right about height and width, I think you might have miscalculated the length a bit, in converting from metric to feet. 15 feet is just 457cm and will not fit at least a third of the cars on the road today - even here. I would say the average single car garage length is closer to...

    Help easy lift solution

Re: help easy lift solution Lift AND pit is an interesting combination, though it has its limitations. How low is your ceiling height exactly?

Garage #2, the little blue warehouse (32x15) - a clean slate!

Correct, I have power, one 16 amp 230 volt circuit, single phase. I guess that's roughly equivalent to a single 30 amp 110V circuit. Ah, so "loft" is the right word here, thanks. Didn't really know what to call it, so I simply called it a second floor. While I think my english isn't too bad...

Garage #2, the little blue warehouse (32x15) - a clean slate!

Just before the recession, they started building a large warehouse divided in 92 smaller units. It was completed just as Lehman collapsed, and so did the market for these. Three years and a few price cuts later, I couldn't resist anymore, so I bought one. I got the keys last tuesday. It's the...

The 28x13 "two car" home garage.

Actually, with the same shoehorn I could fit six Smart cars in there :bounce: In storage mode only of course. I could do most everything I wanted with two 'normal' cars in there (compacts I guess, by US standards), but it was cramped, and having to turn the car around to work on the other side...
