The outfitting, organizing, reorganizing, and reorganizing of my “free” shop (45x60)

I got some more work done. I had a bunch of undersized pallet racking shelves left over, and while they were too small for the pallet racking, most were bigger than the Equipto shelves. I cut them down, and had just enough. I couldn't have done one more shelf. The maple tops came on some...

It's not done yet, but progress is being made:

    Marble Floor in Bathroom

Thanks for the kind words. Those T-locks look amazing. This is the first I've heard of them, I'll definitely be getting some for my next tile project. Good luck with your bathroom.

The outfitting, organizing, reorganizing, and reorganizing of my “free” shop (45x60)

I guess that's about the end of my old pictures, so I'll start in on what I'm working on right now. My shop storage solutions have been constantly evolving since I bought the place. Affordability and durability were initially the only two factors driving my purchases. You'll notice that...

    Garage Gym Projects

That's a gorgeous set up there. So clean. Mine will be reclaimed wood and iron pipe, hopefully the execution will be as good as yours, but it will be a different look. Those Ironmaster dumbbells are slick looking. I'll definitely have them in mind if I ever decide I need to do more dumbbell...

The outfitting, organizing, reorganizing, and reorganizing of my “free” shop (45x60)

It's listed as 2000lbs. It's an old Clark C20B. From what I've read, it's only the combination of the high lift height and small counterweight that keeps it that low. I can probably move around as much as 3000lbs at low levels if I need to.

    Garage Gym Projects

My power rack came with 24" of front to back depth. It wasn't terribly restrictive, but if 24" is good, 30" is better, right? This little project took me about 6 hours. No turning back from here: I post these two pictures to rebut some of the complaints about this power rack. People complain...

    Garage Gym Projects

The most common way people build their own lifting platform is to lay down two sheets of 3/4" osb, then glue two more sheets of osb perpendicular on top of the first two, then center a nice piece of plywood perpendicular to the first layer with horse stall mats along the sides. I varied from...

    Garage Gym Projects

Full Disclosure: My garage gym lives in the basement. I still believe it qualifies as a garage gym. I've gotten to the point where almost everything I want for my gym are things I feel like I should be building myself, so here we go. This is where I'm starting from: The rack is from Titan...

    Marble Floor in Bathroom

I installed ~105 sq ft of this tile in my master bath back in 2012. I have not noticed many of the issues that people are bringing up. Especially the slipperyness, I dry myself as I get out of the shower and don't have a problem. Are others wondering around the bathroom dripping wet? I haven't...

The outfitting, organizing, reorganizing, and reorganizing of my “free” shop (45x60)

Thanks for the welcome Ryan. I have a couple more old pictures before I get to what I'm currently working on. I have a young tradition of trying to have a pig roast/beerfest every year around St Patty's Day. It was born from the fact that I and many of my friends work rotating shifts, and our...

The outfitting, organizing, reorganizing, and reorganizing of my “free” shop (45x60)

During the first few years, I knew what I wanted to do in my shop (restore/build old cars and custom motorcycles), but I didn’t really have any kind of plan with regard to a good layout for doing so. I still only have a so-so plan, hence the reorganizing, and reorganizing. I accumulated things...

The outfitting, organizing, reorganizing, and reorganizing of my “free” shop (45x60)

Now we come to a bit of a picture black hole. The best I can do here at the moment is to describe the layout of the shop, and put up a few pictures I took of things I was working on where you can get an idea of things from the backgrounds. I’ll have better pictures as we go, but I’m trying to...

The outfitting, organizing, reorganizing, and reorganizing of my “free” shop (45x60)

The house required all of my attention for that first winter, but when spring came, I went after what I saw as being the biggest garage related problem, the dirt driveway. Full time supervisors: The concrete went in over about two weeks. In addition to everything pictured, about two thirds of...
