I use a home make pressure style (motive) bleeder all the time on a road race car. Real easy to make for independent MCs w/ screw on lids. Super easy to bleed or change the fluid. I put a longish length of tubing on the caliper and just barely crack the bleeder. Lets me watch what's coming...

If it's a swedged end that's threaded for a few inches, just slip on a section of pipe w/ a washer between the hole in the post and tensioning nut. Worked for me. I have 11'6 ceiling and was able to make a 12' lift fit perfectly.
