Q: Issue with Adjustable Flex Head Drive Tools

Why do people think the screw is there to tighten up the joint? It's not. The little spring in the joint sets the tension. It's not adjustable.

    Cantilever Tool Box

I work out of a pair of Kennedy 1022B boxes as a service engineer. Mine are heavy as hell so I made a little trolley they can roll on. I tried the Pelican boxes and I still used one if I fly. Otherwise the cantilever is a lot more handy. The way they open up makes it so easy to reach whatever...

Craftsman Impact Socket..... made in china...

My dad has a full set of Craftsman impact sockets that were made in Taiwan in the early 1980s. As far as I know they are still working fine. It's not the first time Craftsman has gone offshore...

Is there an electric engineer in the house?

That's a starting point. You can have up to 200% of FLA if required for starting.

Is there an electric engineer in the house?

Lots of old machines say 220. It used to be the standard. Your overload protection should be sized for the wire you have. Motors allows you to have a larger fuse or breaker than the size of the wire or the FLA on the motor plate. Check the NEC. I'd use 2 switches. Say 10 amps for the spindle...

New Wright hex sockets not stamped USA

Any hex under 5/32 is asking for trouble. A ratchet just puts too much torque on such a small tool.

New Wright hex sockets not stamped USA

I have the 1/2 drive set in inch and metric. They are great. I'm not a fan of the 3/8 drive. Stepped bits always break.

Vise Decision - Wilton Tradesman or Ridgid Forged?

I'm pretty sure they are both Yost vices. Made in Taiwan. I'd get the Wilton.

Ghosts of mechanics past, why are abandoned tools in shops?

Pretty sure it doesn't work that way... I know everyone thinks that, but it's not true.

Ghosts of mechanics past, why are abandoned tools in shops?

Not a full toolbox by any means, but I worked in a dealership when I was in college and I took my toolbox home for the summer but left behind my creeper, the charger for my flashlight, and a few other small things. That fall I came back to school and stopped by the dealership. The lot was empty...
