    Partially Heated Pole Barn question

If you put a wall below the truss, you have lacked it in. I would just sheet with OSB. The truss is more rigid than you imagine. I will be doing the same with 38 foot trusses on 12' centers

    solar powered atic fans

I put some of the surface mount ones from Lowes about 6 years ago and they work great. I think they were less money. I also recommend you have remote panels such as the ones you show. that way you can mount then where ever they work best.

    Best air dryer for compressor

What ever system you use, here is a small tip that helps a lot. Place a water drop in the line prior to the Plasma, just a simple pipe drop with a valve at the bottom, and then when you take the line off the "header", or main line, tee or elbow up, over and down. That way any water standing in...

    Protecting lower garage walls?

As Zeke posted above, it's callled FRP. Fibre reinfirced plastic. Holds up well. A less expensive option is called polywall, used to be available at Loews. Not sure if it is now or not.

    Safety glasses

Good advice, some will even be avilable in Bifocal. I used to hate them but since I found ones that are comfortable, I forget I have them on. And thus I wear them more even in my home shop.

    Chainsaw recommendations

I actually used to be a dealer. I sold Homelite, Stihl, Echo, and Poulan. My two Stihl's both gave up the ghost last year, they were both 33 years old. Parts were no longer available or they would still be running. I have used Stihl and Husky the most over the last few years and would recommend...

Help. I really want an epoxy floor but .

I don't have photos but mine is 7 years old and is showing the wear, just in the last year. Mostly by the door where vehicles are turning slightly to cram them in a too small garage. My neighbors is about 9 years old and about the same. Both were cleaned and etched prior to epoxy. If I was to...

    Roof Fan or Gable Fan

I have solar powered roof vents, and really like them. They only run when the sun is out and you need them. I would mount them within about 20 percent of the slope from the top. Just my logic. Got them at Lowes and they have been running great for 6 years. They have remote solar panels so the...

    Front of shop LEDS

For my new shop I just acquired some 110 year old, brass carriage Lanterns than I want to convert to LED and mount on the front of the shop with Motion sensor. A question, the front is 38 feet wide with three doors. (it also has a 12 foot lean to but that can be ignored) The Lanterns are made...

    Lowes vs. Home Depot?

I travel quite a bit, and it depends on where we are. In some places Lowes is better, in some, it is the other way around. If I need something specific I don't want to search for it, I ask someone and expect to be told where it is. In some towns they will immediately take you to it, at Lowes...

    Concrete grinding question

I have used an angle grinder and diamond wheel for small jobs such as this and it wasn't as bad as expected. But if you don't have a quality angle grinder you might burn it up. Keep the concrete dust out of it as much as possible.
