For my new shop I just acquired some 110 year old, brass carriage Lanterns than I want to convert to LED and mount on the front of the shop with Motion sensor.

A question, the front is 38 feet wide with three doors. (it also has a 12 foot lean to but that can be ignored) The Lanterns are made with internal reflectors, directing the light forward and one right and one left. The most logical placement is either at the outsides of all three doors shining forward and towards the center, or on ether side of the center door shining forward and to the outside edges.

What would you do?

Wire it up with a long temporary wire, and move the lights around at night, to find the optimum locations.

Good idea. I have 4 LED's on the front of my garage, one on each side of the garage doors, but in your case, they are unique fixtures and will cast light differently than most. My four equal 10 watts because I had alternate light sources if I need it, and they are on a photo eye.
