    Ghostshield Oil Stains?

Back with an update. The TS-210 is a bit unimpressive. Diesel fuel penetrates and stains almost immediately. Everything else seems to wipe up pretty well, but it's powerless against diesel. I found this out when a chinese diesel heater sprung a fuel leak. I found it within a week, but the...

    Ghostshield Oil Stains?

I wound up going with the TS210 and applied it last weekend. It's budget friendly and I can touch up damage as needed without emptying the shop. Application was reasonably easy, although I found using a garden sprayer actually made it harder and took longer. Just rolling it out block by block...

    Ghostshield Oil Stains?

On strength my thinking was that no matter which of the 3 coating systems you use (E&S, Poly, Epoxy), the top "working layer" winds up being the same clear polyurea. Good to know on the needed add-on for prep with the 2-coat. I see the cost difference now. Thanks for the info!

    Ghostshield Oil Stains?

My slab was poured yesterday, saw cuts come later today. I'm officially "on the clock" for how long until I can apply a coating. Am I understanding that a clear Polyurea is the top coat for Etch & Seal, 2/3 coat polyurea, and also epoxy floor systems? The difference being Etch and Seal is...

    Ghostshield Oil Stains?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I don't care for the idea of emptying the shop in 8-10 years to reapply a sealer, especially if grinding is involved as I assume Ghostshield would require. I need to do some more reading, but if the top coats like TS210 or the Etch and Seal Justin suggested can be...

    Ghostshield Oil Stains?

I'm currently building a 30x47 barn for automotive hobby use. I've been reading a lot about floor coatings. My first garage came with epoxy and it was great, but I suspect that will cost too much to do this barn. This will be a workshop and not a showroom so I'm ok with the look of bare...

2-post lift for low ceiling? Need rcommendation

My interior height is just under 10', and I have about 9-12" clearance from the top of my Aresco/Gemini to the ceiling. It does have the floorplate though.

HF madness continues, what will I buy next?

I have one of their nailer/stapler combo units. Works ok, but it leaves a full mark in the wood from the universal hammer. Does anyone have a nail-only version, and if so how big of a mark does it leave? I'd like to hang some trim and don't want to leave the big stapler dent that my current...

Floor cleaner / Mop bucket solution?

Thanks everyone. I do have some cardboard around, but usually forget to use it. That Big Lots deal sounds pretty good. Is the MAX the same as EXTREEM? I'm already having flaking paint/powdercoat problems with my hoist, so I better be careful with that.

Floor cleaner / Mop bucket solution?

Thanks for the ideas. Sounds like Simple Green may be the better way to go from now on. I don't really have any stuborn spots. Just a giant mess thats getting smeared around more than cleaned up. I'll start by diluting the Greased Lightning and see if that works a bit better. I had...

Floor cleaner / Mop bucket solution?

Just wondering what everyone uses to mop up the floor in their garage? I have an epoxy floor, and currently have a mess of rust shavings/powder, PB blaster, and brake fluid that has been mixed by wet shoes and smeared all over the place. It's dried up, and I'd like to mop it up now that the...

Tools you have made or modified

I just finished building a unique brake caliper spreader tool. I recently helped a co-worker with his 1980 vette. We swapped a caliper on the RH front, then went to change pads on the LH. Had a hard time getting all 4 pistons to open up for the new pads. It has 2 pistons on the inside and 2...

Would you let Sears work on your car?

The Sears near me does a good job with alignments on my truck, and they typically get it done in an hour or two, and supply the printout of specs. One time I took it to a "real" mechanic/shop. First they sent me home to put the stock tires on it, then they did a poor job. I took it back and...

    Lift in a 22' garage?

I've used the beam across the posts before, to pull a boat motor. I didn't use the lift arms though, I just hung a chain fall. Works very well. It was only a 4cyl, so I bolted 3 2x6 boards together. My only gripe is that you have to 'clean up' when you're done, since half the project is...

    Lift in a 22' garage?

2000 F-150 extended cab short bed. Garage interior depth is 21' +/- It clears by about 18" +/-. No way to do any motor work, but it fits for parking, or on the lift for undercarriage & suspension work. The lift is an Aresco symmetrical. I stop the truck as soon as the tail clears the door...
