    Anyone clean their mini splits?

I learned the hard way about them, water ran down my garage wall all day before it was spotted and caused quite a bit of damage. Now I take mine apart every spring and completely clean it out. And I agree, getting the cover off is a pita.

    Re-purposing Vintage GE kitchen cabinets

Great find! I bought all the cabinets in my garage from a guy that was gutting a house for $100, another $100 in paint and done. Mine aren't metal like yours (wish they were) but I like them just the same and the price couldn't be beat.

    Rubber gym flooring for garage?

The pads you have are fairly heavy duty and will hold up pretty good, I think most here figure you have the real light cheap foam like they sell at HF. My only real warning, if they get wet underneath they end up slipping like you are walking on ice. I found that out the hard way. Lol I've...

    Hedge Trimmer Shopping

The difference is night and day, I get things done at least twice as fast and my trimmer is surprisingly light. The freedom of no cord and the big jump in power make it worth every penny. Mines an Echo not sure of the exact model though.

not using hot water heater for extended periods?

i would just turn it off but at least once a week run the faucet for a few minutes, that way even though it's cold you're still not letting sediment stand too long.

Mr Cool ductless minisplit experiences **now that you've had it for a few years**

My mini clogged up mid summer and ruined my interior wall and also damaged a couple things I had hanging on the wall below it. Took the interior unit apart and cleaned it, then cleaned the outside unit and the damn thing did it again. Turns out a damn wasp made a nest in the drain line, and...

    Garage carpet

Also if moisture builds up under the cheap rubber gym mats they are like being on ice, broke my *** more then once. Lol To the OP, Dollar Tree sells rubber backed 18" x 18" carpet tiles for a buck apiece. I use them in my garage bathroom and under my bikes. Best part is that for a buck when...

Please show off your garage/shop sink

I only have 60amps going to my garage and I have a washer and dryer, split unit, water heater and even our pool pump running off it as well as all the other normal garage stuff and I have yet to pop a breaker.

Can I Use a Pellet stove to heat my shop?

I have 2 pellet stoves in my home, one upstairs and one downstairs. Both are on independent thermostats and turn on and off when needed. With my experience with them, while they keep my house nice and toasty when it came to heating my garage I went with a hanging gas furnace. The pellet stoves...
