    trusses vs stick frame

I went with trusses because for me it made the most sense. I wanted an open floor plan and the cost seemed reasonable too. They span 40' x 37' and look like a work of art:).

Thanks for the input, I'm starting to feel better about the situation. I keep hearing that concrete will crack no matter what. But at my other house a house built in 1950 the garage slab has no cracks. Its never been redone before as my grandparents were the original owners. Better concrete? My...

Thanks for the knowledge. No saw cuts or gloves were made. The cracks span the whole garage in both directions. 40' x 37' feet of cracking in a new slab is no good

my new garage forum inspired garage

Just wanted to thank all of you who have shared your builds and knowledge with the rest of us. I've been a lurker reading and learning as much as possible before opening my wallet and spending the cash for my build. On 6/1/2011 I broke ground on my 40'x37' foot shop/garage. Looking forward for...

    Curing concrete?

just water it a couple times a day. I think that if you bought quality concrete and prep the the area properly you will have a strong foundation anyway.
