Not all floor jacks are created equal, normally when you jack up a car it's to get under it and work on it pushing/pulling/twisting things makes it move on the jack, used on blacktop the jack can sink on on side etc.

I've seen too many jacks fall over, I want a second point of safety like jack stand or 2 provides.

Two things I've seen customers do, you need to avoid. The first you seem to have avoided...don't cut the tank while cutting the panel out. Do not screw a patch panel on without knowing if the screw is going to either go into the tank or rub on the tank after installed.

Are the ends(yokes) solid steel? If they are you want to cut it at the welds clean it up then tap the new tube over the yoke and weld it there. Some of that style shaft is foam filled to dampen harmonics makes them horrible to weld on.

That's what I've always thought too but the Comcast installers say they are not allowed to touch any other "customer owned system or device". so they ground their cable demark with a ground rod.

Those fittings in that block look like what the cable company uses here for multiple hook ups in dwelling. Unused and no longer needed, Now they all like to run there own ground rod into the ground.
