on my pole barn they put metal on the bottom of the trusses, and im blowing in R-49 insulation. between the poles in the walls they had rolled up 'blankets' of insulation that fit perfectly between each pole, then a vapor barrier, then metal on the inside to finish it off...works great

jcabbbang - if your buildings steel is still under warrenty you might want to check with morton on what the warrenty covers if you use that spray foam. they shyed me away from it I received a price of $2900 for blown in cellulose for an R39 and 3100 for R49 from a local insulation contractor...

scuba0459- Did you put yours on top or below the rebar? My rebar is already down (1/2" on 1ft centers sitting on 2.5" chairs) and im finding it kind of tricky to get it fished under the rebar...but it is doable i have put 3,000 feet in so far, just need another 500ft or so to finish it up

jklingel - I am aware that the 3/4 pex changes alot. My supplier is the biggest geothermal installer in the states right now. I subcontract off of them running a directional boring machine putting in the geothermal loops, so I just had them size the unit to my needs, get the stuff for me...

where in southern ia are you from? Alot of the energy companies are giving huge rebates for geothermal heat, which you can use to heat the water for the pex. Plus 30% federal tax credit... sometimes that gets it down low enough that the geothermal is cheaper than a gas/electric system
