T5-HO 6-lamp fixtures are designed for hi-bay applications where the fixture is typically mounted around 30' AFF. Looks like your application is at about half that height so I would estimate your getting around 75 to 100 footcandles directly under the fixtures!
You could have used T8 lamps and saved money in first cost and operating cost. T5-HO's are not very efficient, produce a large amount of heat, and are 3-4 times the cost of T8's for lamp replacement. With 36 lamps that will cost about $125 every time you relamp.
Wuboring, not trying to flame your shop, it looks like a nice place. I am just trying to point out some issues with the T5 fixtures in hopes others will think about it before shelling out the bucks. Your post just offered the opportunity to respond to the issues I am aware of.
T5's, especially the HO version are for special applications and are being misapplied in many cases. Although T5's have been in use over in Europe for some time, the lamp is still relatively new here in the states. Manufacturers of a lesser quality are finding out the hard way that you just can't jamb a T5 or a T5HO in a fixture and expect better results than the T8. You have to do your homework and develop a fixture specific to the T5 lamp profile.
