    "Cheaper" Torque Wrench

I am actually quite surprised with the responses I am getting on here. But this is good news for poor people like myself. I think I will just go down to Harbor Freight and purchase a cheap clicker wrench. I will actually have access to one of those torque sensing extensions in a month or so...

    "Cheaper" Torque Wrench

I am curious as to what you guys think of these "cheap" clicker torque wrenches on the market...they all seem to be made by the same company in Taiwan. I know most of you would not trust these wrenches for anything critical...I am mostly just a shade tree mechanic and do not want to spend too...

    Tool Truck Dealers

This is the one bad thing about truck brand tools...you are at the mercy of your dealer for warranty. At least you have another dealer that you can obtain warranty through. Around here there is one dealer for each brand and only the Mac guy stops at the shop. Matco guy doesn't come around...

So, I was at harbor freight today.....

I just picked up a couple pairs of their "professional" pliers a couple of months ago and they seem to be holding up pretty well to everyday use. I also have a set of their metric deep impact sockets and they are also holding up very well. I think that some of their stuff is fairly good...

If you have a Menard's store nearby go and take a look at the new Mastercraft boxes they have. For the money they are the nicest boxes I have found...except the color. They have a 7 drawer 36" wide cabinet for something like $379 with ball bearing slides and the drawers feel very sturdy. I...

    1/2 Impact Wrench

I know I will probably get made fun of for this... Does anybody have any experience with this impact gun from HF... Item number 94803 (the link wouldn't work) I realize that most of their air tools are pretty much junk, but if the tools can be had for the right price I believe that they will...

Question for you engineers or tool experts?

No need to be sorry...I miss understood your post when I read it earlier. I retract my earlier statements...Ironcrow is correct.

Question for you engineers or tool experts?

I will have to respectfully disagree with you on the items in bold. If the material stays in the elastic region these statements are true. But if the material goes past its yield point into the plastic region then the statements are not true. Once the material starts to yield it will no longer...

    KD Wrenches

I am looking for both SAE and Metric...10-19mm and 3/8-1" or something similar. I am not too picky and will fill in where I need with individuals. Anybody have any experience with the Allen brand combo wrenches...they are Danaher and full polished, but not long pattern. Are they similar...

    KD Wrenches

Thanks for the offer...I would love a set like that but I am just too cheap. I am not in a huge hurry to buy so I will be patient and hopefully something will come along on eBay for the right price. I am not trying to be a jerk but...

    KD Wrenches

Thanks for the links...I was actually watching three of those already. I have been watching/bidding on tool auctions for awhile but they always go high enough that they aren't really that great of a deal. example: watch the c-man auction...you can buy a 9 pc. set new for $60. Therefore I...

    KD Wrenches

Thanks everyone! I was looking at the 24 piece set as tooltopia has them for around $100. I was thinking this was a good price if they were US made. I will keep looking around. I like the SK wrenches so I will probably try to find a decent price on them...any suggestions?

    KD Wrenches

This is my first post to this board and it looks like a valuable source of information! Anyways...I have been looking around for a decent (medium quality) wrench set. I like the Craftsman Pro as they seem like pretty good quality for the money. I definitely want a long pattern with polished...
