Yea, screwing things into the block wall will be more of a pain. The storage areas need to come down in order to fit the lifts. Some more progress: Got the opener installed. Removed the old beam, started demo on the lower loft and middle shelf, and installed a third light.

Now im getting the door prepped for the install of the atlas 8000ext. We removed the Genie opener and installed a liftmaster 8500. Next step is to finish clearing the garage and then tear down the loft space above and remove the old beam holding the old opener in place.

Thanks for the comments! Yes you can buy a tandem 4ft T8 fixture at the big box stores for about $60 ea + bulbs but from what i've read they are sketchy quality plus they are not high output. 4ft T8HO fixtures i found were $117 ea and you'll need 4 of them so they are even more expensive than...
