Hey everyone, recently got this barn that I'd love to turn into a shop someday, the focus for now is the house but as soon as thats done I can decide what to do here.

First thing is it needs a garage door of some sort to get stuff in, next I need to fill in the trenches. One of the major things I'd like to do is raise the roof to get enough ceiling height to be able to put a lift in there at some point.

I am also looking into wether it's worth just starting from scratch again or not, as you can see this place hasn't been taken care of over the years and its had a decent amount of water damage. Anyways onto some pictures with what I have to work with. Any comments, opinion and feedback is greatly appreciated.

If the walls are straight and it fits your needs, I would slowly transform it into what you need.

I would say if its got a sound structure I would keep it. It wouldn't be that hard to cut a couple doors in and you wont need to raise the entire roof maybe just a section where the lift is going. As far as the trenches go fill is cheap and once the doors are cut in you can pour some concrete. Just my 2 cents

Also agree that renovating it will be far lower cost than new. I don't understand the floor in the 3rd picture. Looks like long channels of some sort...........cow excrement "drains"?
