    Jack shaft opener question

I've had my three 8500's for 5 years now. The only problem that I've experienced is the wall controllers failing... They warranty replaced them immediately. I'm very please with the units HITCH

    Locking your garage / shop(?)

All my tools get locked up in my boxes and power tools are locked in a metal cabinet. So even if they get in the shop they don't have access to tools to help them take more stuff.

How many cameras for my house and shop

Check out CCTVImports.com I'm on my second system in the last 10 years. For your house I would be looking at 14-16 cameras with a high quality system. It would be between $2,500 to $3,000 if you did the installation yourself. Their Customer Support has always been great. I can see all the...

Just found a great, simple, cheap alarm system for detached garage

I have SimpliSafe for the house and shop. Could be happier. I needed range expanders (two) to make it all work but the Company was GREAT to work with. Technical support is always been an American... That there is enough for me to keep doing business with them.. HITCH

Liftmaster 8500W - New Model, Fixed Controller!?

I've had my 8500's (3 of them) and have replaced two of the three controllers. Customer service was pretty good to work with and after the second one I told them to send me a spare. They did so I have an extra just in case. I haven't had any issues with them opening or closing on their own. Now...

    Garage door monitor

Same here it's never opened on it's own. The only time it's accidentally and it has a few times. Is when I forget to close the app and I put the phone in my pocket and moving around it signals the doors to change states. That's my fault though..

    Concrete driveway expectations - Spalling

So this winter we had some snow a couple of times here in North Carolina. Usually when this happens the snow accumulates and then melts. Well it was cold enough that it accumulated and then thawed some and refroze. The house driveway is a little over 8 years old but the shop concrete is about 2...

Hitch's Garage build that includes clowns as subs...

Yeah they are but they move a ton of air! The Hunter fans work... My job is Warehouse Solutions and the BAF are impressive. I could have got them at cost but even then they were a lot more expensive than what I paid for the Hunter fans. If money were not a concern I would have the BAF.. HITCH

    Wireless security camera issues. Help!!

Not likely. Wireless cameras have not yet become reliable. Wired either coax or cat5/cat etc.. are still the preferred method... HITCH

Hitch's Garage build that includes clowns as subs...

I got them from Home Depot online and they are Hunter Industrial fans. While large I wish I had sourced them through my purchasing group and gone with the BIG *** FANS option... They just don't move the air like I would expect.. However they were about 1/5th of the price of the Big *** fans...

Another vote for LiveWatch, all my people doors are alarmed, specific doors in the house that are interior are alarmed, windows in key areas alarmed, smoke detectors, motion detectors, controls outside lights (really any zwave device) along with instant notification.
