There's also Koken's nut grip sockets, which use a spring loaded ball bearing to securely hold a bolt head in the socket. No magnet required, and excellent retention.
Ko-ken Zeal ratchets are only 36 tooth, but extraordinarily smooth and nice to use. They're about as close to the platonic ideal of a 36 ratchet as you can get.
Yup. I've been building a set of Blackhawk 1/2 drive chrome sockets to replace some Craftsman ones, and they've all been stamped as US made. Like them better than the Williams USA sockets that are the bulk of my other good sockets.
My favorite ratchets these days are Ko-ken Zeal ones. The Armstrong locking flex ones are great too, but I've acquired a new appreciation for the ease of use of a short one when you don't need the length of the Armstrong.

I like that. It'd go well with 1/4 nut grip sockets when I don't want to keep track of a second ratchet. Where'd you pick it up at? (Or I could break down and get the 3/8 nut grips, but I like the smaller ones for tight spaces).
Matco makes metric ones, but they're big bucks. Looks like SK does too. The style seems to be mostly only found in fractional sizes for some reason but there are a few exceptions.
