Been looking for a set of these for probably 25 years. Not once have I come across any at either a pawn shop or garage sale, and the few times I've seen them at auction, the 3/8-3/4 sets bring $150 plus. This set runs 1/4"-7/8".
This set popped up on local CL yesterday, so I jumped on them.
Flipped a 7" Makita grinder to help pay for them and am into them for around $70 after that. Guy was asking $100, which I gladly paid.

First new tools I ever bought with my own money was a set of Truecraft flex socket wrenches. At NE State Fair from some tool seller, for around $20, in 1986.
I remember my uncle Harold chewing my *** for buying "cheap Japan stuff" instead of SK, but a 13 year old kid had limited funds. Still got the Truecrafts, and they've served me well.
Guess I've righted a wrong from 30 years ago! Wish Uncle Harold was still here to see it.

Aka saltus wrenches. I really want a set, but in metric and the only ones I've found are new from carlyle/napa and they are big bucks ($300?). Less than$10/wrench for saltus, even in sae seems like a good deal to me.

Matco makes metric ones, but they're big bucks. Looks like SK does too. The style seems to be mostly only found in fractional sizes for some reason but there are a few exceptions.

SK makes them as well, currently $247 on Amazon.

Thanks for the links. Not a huge fan of sk, might just have to keep an eye out for a used set of the matcos. I wonder if the sk's are nos or new ideal production.

They are current in SK's current lineup, so not just old stock. I have a set of old SK in SAE like the above (60's or 70's versions) and also would like a metric set sometime, but hard to find. Herbrand also made these back in the day in the 60's. I have I think two oddball Herbrand versions also. Not sure who else did. If you search on Ebay for Saltus or flex wrench from time to time they will show up. That is how I got mine. Never ever seen them local anywhere.

OP you did well and got a nice set there for a good price! :) - Paul
