    Which Wood CNC?

I built my cnc router based on Joe's CNC design - it is based on 8620 stock aluminum shapes primarily. My electronics are based on a Gecko 540 controller (I really do not know much about electronics - but I can connect wires). You can google Joe's CNC, and it will get you to the website. My...

Putting ceramic tile over deck floor

I did this (without the heating) in our last house. Used half inch cement board with many, many of the proper screws. Above that used ceramic tile in 12 x 12 squares, in thin set. Worked without cracks. Floor was very stable with few creaks before tile.

Dealing with improperly sloped slab + puddling

I had a small scale version of this problem in a previous house, which I fixed by cutting some drainage grooves in the floor using a concrete cutting blade in a circular saw, and then covering the whole floor with Racedeck flooring.

    Second Racedeck Installation

Thanks, Kaleb. The Racedeck floor helped me sell the old house (and the concrete floor underneath was not pretty!).

    Second Racedeck Installation

About three years ago, I did a Racedeck install in my then garage, which was attached to the house we sold two years ago. It was a lovely house, and we kinda hated to leave it, but it was time to downsize. It was especially sad to leave the Racedeck floor behind. So after living in our...

Racedeck Flooring after 4 1/2 years

Looks really good. I am about to do my second Racedeck floor (we moved), and I am wondering...did any of the shine wear off from tire/floor interaction?

Convert bath fan to supply fresh air

Thanks, TR. I do appreciate that the house will continuously balance pressure with the outside from leakage and simply opening doors to the outside. The house is new and fairly tight. So, most of the make-up air is coming from the garage, our main point of entry. This is not my first choice...

Convert bath fan to supply fresh air

Thanks, Larry. I will check to see if this motor looks like the shaded pole pix.

Convert bath fan to supply fresh air

I have been trying to figure out a simple, low cost way to provide a fresh air supply near our bedroom at night. Opening a window does not work, because we have two bright street lights that we would not be able to block. Our master bath has an exhaust fan near the shower, and a second...

    Concrete spotting on garage floor

    ...or underground spring.

    Outdoor Box...but truly weathertight

I abandoned X10 switches because they failed on me inside my house...so moisture may not be the problem there. Z wave is better.

Plywood behind drywall - stud finder doesn't work

The plywood is likely nailed to the studs on the usual 16 inch spacing. Use a super magnet to find the nailheads in the plywood. I would guess the sheetrock would also still be nailed on the 16 inch centers as well.

    Sonos, Airplay, Bluetooth, Speakers???

My experience involves separate amps with good speakers, as well as several expensive soundbars. I was not happy with the bother of the separate amp/speakers or the quality of the various soundbars. Then I bought a Sonos soundbar...which sounds great. Then I added a Sonos subwoofer...even...

Electric Motor Question - Flange Mount Kit

184t is a standard usa motor size...you can google nema frame sizes and learn more than you want to know. If you convert your base mounted motor to a flange mount, as others have pointed out, you will likely have to mess with the bearing in the end flange. If you buy a simple add on flange...

    RaceDeck Install

I used landscape fabric under mine and it works well. The foam would have an issue with moisture from rain runoff, I would think.
