I've been using this 5000 watt heater in my garage for a couple years. My 2 1/2 car garage is 500sq ft and I keep it about 60°. On days when it's below 10° it will only get my garage to around 50° but my garage is not isualated all that well. It runs on a 30 amp 220 breaker.

Have you checked the fan to make sure its tight. There have been complaints of it being loose from the factory.

I just installed this heater in my garage a couple months ago. I used 10/2 (orange) wire plus a 30 amp 220 breaker. Two wires are hot plus a ground. Works great.

That's a different way of attaching a heater to the ceiling. I used the supplied bracket and ran all-thread rod from the bracket, through the ceiling, and above the raffters. I laid a 2X6 across the raffers at an angle and ran the all-thread rod through the 2X6 and added washers and nuts on...

Fired up the heater in the garage since it was 21 degree outside and cleaned up the old 49 pickup. Also got out my one remaining RC plane getting it ready for Spring flying. I've been out of the hobby for about 4 1/2 years so since I retired I thought I would rejoin the club.

I guess if you live in an area where power outagage accure frequently it may be worth getting one. I had my house built about 35 years ago and I can only remember one time in the winter that power has been out for more than 2 hours. Just can't justify getting one.
