Hi, I'm new here, I have been reading and looking at posts for some time. I have a three car garage and I am sick of freezing my (*&)&* off whenever I want to work on my car or do a project in the winter. Anyway, I am DIY a Mr. Heater 80,000 BTU natural gas heater.

Here are some photos...this took one long day. I had to move some pretty heavy garage JUNK out of my way. LOL. It's clean now.

Question about the vent pipe. The kit fits loosely over the adapter that is on the unit. I have read that this is supposed to be loose? The vent pipe is a double wall stainless steel pipe and its unions are very tight.

That's a different way of attaching a heater to the ceiling. I used the supplied bracket and ran all-thread rod from the bracket, through the ceiling, and above the raffters. I laid a 2X6 across the raffers at an angle and ran the all-thread rod through the 2X6 and added washers and nuts on both ends.

Yes that is neater but I have no access to the space above....I wanted to catch the 24 on center trusses and be able to turn it sideways 45 degrees.

Cost about $1300 (will get exact numbers).

DIY.

Done.

There are a bunch of Install Threads on here for that Heater.
I installed a 50k a couple of years ago. My Vent pipe needed an adapter to go from the Unit to the Exhaust pipe. It was all tight and leakproof when done.

The duravent kit came with adapter for 3 in and 4 in. With the correct one and some sealant its perfect.

Now that its 72 degrees in the garage i can run the dedicated electrical outlet for it and put a switch by the door.

Happy YES.

Did my first warm garage project today, put roof racks on my Q7 to make picking up 10 foot conduit for electrical easier. And I did not freeze my *** off doing it. LOL
