Nice of drywall crew to power wash.

Not in our trade’s scope.

We hire that phase separately at the end.
Same company does stucco and drywall, I am really impressed with their coordination of crews. For example, on the drywall they had different crews for stocking, hanging, scrap removal, steel base and corner trim, taping, texturing, sanding, clean up, and powerwashing. Every crew specialized, laser-focused, on time, fast, top-notch workmanship. One general foreman for all the drywall crews, all getting a paycheck from the same company, so no finger pointing or blame games.

Similar breakdown on the exterior stucco.

It's a business model that works.

Got all the ductwork up, then realized we might have an interference issue with the overhead garage door... they sent a guy out to measure, it's going to be really close. Too close, actually. Decided to pull the N/S lateral down until after the door is installed, then make any adjustments to the ducting. The E/W duct can stay where it is.20260217_164910.jpg

Can you share any supply house for the ducting you would recommend down in Phoenix area? TIA
I don't know any suppliers in Phoenix- all of this ducting is being moved from my existing garage. It was installed about 5 years ago by an HVAC contractor, not sure where he sourced it. For this DIY project I just ordered the 12" tee online; his price to move the system was considerably more than the original installation, definitely a "Not interested" price.

Looking great! Is there a benefit to putting the cove on before the floor? I’ve always done the floor first but maybe I’m missing something?
Just personal preference, wanted to flush out the cove with the floor tile instead of having it sit on top of the basketweave mosaic. The floor tile is getting black grout, walls are going to be white. Plan is to install the wall tile next, grout it, seal it, and then do the floor. That way I can keep the grout colors separate. Guess we will find out soon if that plan is going to work. 🤔

Got the rest of the wall tile up in the shop bathroom today. Took just under 700 pieces total. Grouting tomorrow.
Not sure what I was thinking when I lined up the first course of subway tile with the cove base, but that's what I did. 🙄20260221_181121.jpg
Will probably leave it, it's behind the sink and toilet anyway. Or not.

It’s ok scott we know it was a manifestation of Retraumatization from your pool tile experience.

We forgive you and want you to know, we’re here for ya man 🤗

I was trying to figure out where you're going to put the condom dispenser and it reminded me of a bar I went to in Tucson called the "Meet Rack". The condom dispenser in the women's bathroom was linked to a firehouse bell. If a lady invested in a condom, she was rewarded with a giant bell notifying the bar she was ready for a good time. In other words, you might need a large bell to further enhance the experience.

Bowley and Wilson's Bar in Dallas in the 80's used to play a (fake) recording of the womens bathroom (loud flatulence, depth charges, splashes, sighs, moans, salacious gossip) whenever a woman got up to use it in the middle of a performance. And, they would stop the performance to play it while waiting for them to return.
It didn't play in the restroom, just in the bar, so when she came out it was a total shock.

That's pretty savage!
