Thankfully came off pretty clean. I was afraid the sheetrock would come with it. Now that won’t drive you crazy every time you walk in.
I agree, it was making me crazy just thinking about it.
Luckily the mastic took off mostly drywall texure and paint instead of sheetrock.
Used my little Estwing 12 ounce rip claw framing hammer, tap-tap-tap and it all peeled off in fairly big shards. Only one bandaid required.
In my quest to replicate that vintage service station look I designed the bathroom with a narrow black liner tile between the white subway tile and the bullnose cap to complement the basketweave floor tile.
Got real sticker shock when I priced out the liner tiles at $12+/ ft.
That was way more than what I wanted to spend, so I did some poking aound and found a sheet of 3/4" x 4" basalt black tiles at Floor and Decor for $16, so I cut them into strips to use for liner tile.
Happy with the result, looks great (IMHO) and saved me $200 over the special-order tile. (1/3 the cost of the entire tile project)

Nice touch and way to save a few $$s! Looks great!
Got the green shingle roof over the Texaco facade finshed up yesterday. It took three bundles of ridge shingles (I never did find any green 3-tab). Put them up with 1" narrow crown staples since they're just decorative. I did have to touch up the bright staples on the last course with a dab of dark green paint to cover the shiners.

Oh you have it all wrong Scott. I NEVER proclaimed to be an "expert" at roofing. But at giving people ****? Yeah, I'm pretty much a pro there.

That's the way I was taught as well Scott, but I'm far from an expert.
First of two garage doors going in today.
Finally going to be able to get this addition closed up.
Went with Wayne Dalton 9100 series insulated flat panel doors to match the existing garage, since they are immediately adjacent.
The smaller glass panel door for the Texaco station should be in next week, it had to come out of the Ohio plant.
More to come.

Are these going to be hi-lift doors with jackshaft operator for a lift? Looks like you have the outlet positioned for one.
Been really busy helping a close friend's widow get an industrial property cleaned out and ready for sale. Huge woodshop, chock full o'stuff. Will post more on that later....
Did manage to get the bathroom wall tile grouted and most of the floor tile put down today. Should be able to get it finished up tomorrow, as soon as I get all the plumbing fixtures installed we can call for a final inspection. Contractor is done, what's left is on me.

Thanks, Tony. I knew you would resurface when I threatened to call you just as soon as I got the phone in...The place is looking amazing, I'm just wondering how long did it take you to weave in all of those tiles and did you have to heat them up first
