Good to know. I had avoided it because they had a non-flammable version before (or so I recall) that sucked and stank terrible. I'll buy a case of that and see if it works better than the acetone based "new" 313. The old 313 was my go to for ages and I stocked up when T-dumpty announced the rule changes, but I have since run out.
Chances are if you in Northern BC you are going to get it from Lordco anyway, but my experience was:
313r at Napa $13.48
313r at Partsource $11.99
313r at Lordco $5.99. Cashier said, not a direct quote but roughly that they have it on for 9.99 for about 4 months a year and for 5.99 for the other 8.

IDK if that is to draw in business to Edmonton. They only opened stores here late 2021, so I'm sorry if it doesn't sell that cheap where you are at. And I do know Napa or Partsource wholesale accounts make a HUGE difference.

I've been using 313r for several days. It's not quite as "clean" a scent as the old 2023-and-back Schrader or especially the Wurth stuff which I believe had more isopropyl, and the scent lingers longer IMO, but it works well.
I went all Project Farm on the situation and found if I dripped used motor oil on my ~20yo Rigid shop vac hose, I had a more or less infinitely duplicable test.
I can't tell Gunk M705RC vs 313R, but both are more than acceptable. No wipe, no agitation, but did use a blast of compressed air, and a 2nd spray.
With the hose in your hands, any darkness is just cleanliness, 0% oiliness.

On this subject more or less...
I have seen a video of a mechanic with a metal refillable can that he uses for degreasing parts.

I think it may have a small hand pump to pressurized it so it will squirt.

Anyone have one? I can't remember what video it was or if he said what he fills it with.

That's for us in Canada. You'll have to figure out the link for Amazon.com in the US. lol
You probably should be low $40's - although that one was the best price I saw.

I've never seen one in person. I think Eastwood back in the day sold them...IIRC?

Google suggests typical aerosol cans can be anywhere from 25psi to 100psi. That one says good to 110psi. So you aren't losing anything.

I do know manufacturers most often do not use plain air to charge. They do generally prefer gases that are non oxygenated or otherwise capable of reaction for use as propellants. Does this keep an oxygenation from occurring? Is it a subtle safety requirement? IDK.

Yeah, Lordco is where I get it. I used to be able to get it cheap all the time through my work account, but now that doesn't work unless I cut a PO. I'll have to go see what they say.

Any idea if it works as well as starting fluid as the old stuff did? Swore it worked better than ether. :ROFLMAO:

My backpack blower was a truly generic $144 Cdn to my door Amazon purchase and needs help starting- choke is useless and it's lean at "idle" .
I can try the new brake clean.
I've used C/Tire starting fluid, the acetone brake clean, and the old formula brake clean. All work equally IME.
One exception noted, hundreds of hours of use at 25:1 (yeh thats oily) and the acetone seemed to help maintain the piston top bright and shiny. Got to say I was surprised to see that! Plug out it it looks like it was never fired. Craziness

Hydrocarbons, like propane or butane , are commonly used in part because they are a liquid under pressure in the can. That means more and more constant pressure as the propane vaporizes. Compressed air will run out. That’s not a problem for a pump up can, but is for a throw away. (I have used a blow nozzle to put compressed air in spray cans that have lost their propellant, with some success.).

Went and bought myself some of the Kleen-Flo 313R.

Not impressed. Not sure what is going on here, old stock? Stinks terribly, and the warning label clearly states it has tetrachloroethylene in it. It is NOT what their MSDS says it is. Or is there something even worse going on as I am in the province of British Communism?

I am going to go to a different retailer and see what their cans say.
