7" wide on the offset woodworking jaws and 4" on the small jaws.

I noticed that all cast parts have "**-93" cast into them with "**" being a different number for each part of the vise. I wonder if "93" is the model number but I haven't found any confirmation of it anywhere online.

although it may, or may not really contribute to its model identification, can we see the face of the dynamic? Some have a waffle pattern, some do not. I think I posted a 91 catalog in the vice thread instead of replying here cause I was extraordinarily tired… here

I will try to loookcin some more catalogs later.

I have a Parker No. 978 which is missing the vise nut. It's a pretty scarce model, weighs around 300 lb, so I will likely need to have one fabricated. Maybe the nut is interchangeable with other Parker models, though...any advice?

I have a Rock Island #94 with a stripped nut. Any one have one? I was also looking to see if I can by another nut from a place like Yost which sell a similar style but would need a hole drilled in the bottom of the vise for the retainer bolt. As best I can tell, the screw is 3/4" but do not know how may TPI.

Any help anyone would be willing to provide? I would love to get this vise working.

Hi all - I recently picked up a 1C in need of some TLC. The main issue is that’s missing one of the jaws. Does anyone know of a reasonable replacement? I see they can be ordered on-line but I’m too cheap to spend the $135. :)

Looking for a Prentiss NO 22 swivel base.

Same here. Have not found one in years. I may have to machine one out.

what are the:
  • OD of the base
  • bolt circle for the lock down
I had the same ask for an American Scale 66 (6") and discovered I could make a Kurt base (common) work. I later was able to acquire the correct base, but I still have a couple sizes of Kurt bases.

I have eight M12x1.75, 55mm long, yellow zinc-plated carriage bolts. I used them on a Columbian 4500 reversible vise. They go with the handles that tighten the base. I only needed 2, but had to buy a pack of 10.

A few items I've been looking for:

Spindle nut for a 106R
Spindle Nut for a 104
Swivel Lockdown Handle for a 104R

Original or fabricated doesn't matter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys I'm restoring my Chas Parker 249X vise that my great uncle left behind. I inherited it when I bought his old place, anyway it's missing the retaining collar. Wondering if they are pretty generic between all Chas Parker vises. I cannot find one for a 249X and have found on this form its a pretty rare vise. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I have a new set of jaws coming from AntiqueVises.com so I’m letting my orphan 1C jaw go. I have it listed over in the classifieds as well.

I hope I'm posting this in the right place  This morning I picked up a Prentiss New York Bull Dog No. 96 vise at a flea market here in Florida for $200. It is in great condition; however, it is missing the swivel base which I imagine is a common thing. I may just mount it stationary on a stand in my shop but thought I'd see if mine may be laying around out there somewhere :D IMG_5944.jpeg

The outside diameter of the base is 10" - massive for this 150 lb. vice. The middle (inner) part of the base leads me to believe this is a "through the bench" model, such that the vise sits on a missing base that has "clocking" holes for a "pin" to stop circular movement once a nut is loosened under the bench to "swivel" the vise. I include a picture of one smaller Prentiss vice that has this set up but the pictures do not clearly show everything.

From your pic I'm reading that ruler/yardstick as closer to 9-1/4" (overlap at the "0" end...) - Those 2 pics are not showing the lock hole? is the ruler blocking that?

I agree with the through the bench bolt based on the slotted center boss.

The slot in center boss measures 1" side and 2-3/4" deep. I can feel that it is square inside to accept a large square headed bolt. I cut a hole in the middle of a piece of cardboard which allowed me to trace the exact dimension of the outside diameter of bottom of the vise and it is exactly 10" inside my marked line. The other pics are taken at angles so hard to see. The inside of the sloped walls in the vise base narrows the diameter to 9" and the inside dimension "wall to wall" is 9-1/4". I have a good idea of the shape of the missing base plate and the interior hole necessary for the vise to sit on the plate. The vise has one hole for the spring loaded pin that would be pushed into clocked positioning holes but I've not seen pictures (yet) of the pin/spring assembly. There is a good "x-ray" view in a very old Prentiss catalogue which is helpful but it's on the swivel jaw vise with swivel base that bolts to the table with 3 flanges (but I expect the pin/spring assembly is the same). The good news is that I located and purchased the "wing nut" with a 5"+ wing span on Ebay. Once I get that in, I can source or made the square head bolt! Lastly, I found pictures of what the base plate might look like with the holes and the large washer for under the work bench.

Cleaned up the Parker 63 1/2, after deciding to keep the patina! Before I make my own drop in pritchel tool, I'm inquiring if anyone has one available. Looks pretty easy to make if not. Pic of vise and what's missing :) Thanks
