This thread supports, but is not intended to replace the "let's see your craftsman block grinder" thread, started in July 2012 by GJ member emeraldcoupe.
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157794

That thread continues to be very well supported and visited by many GJ members.

If you would like to know more about what is/is not considered a Block grinder, see my signature line link, or click here. ---> Craftsman Block motor Bench Grinders - What's the Fuss? (resource information).

Some replacement parts remain available through the following links; unfortunately most are discontinued.
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/
http://www.ereplacementparts.com/craftsman-grinder-parts-c-158286_159871.html

These CM Block grinders were made in various styles, HP ratings, models, and with various features for several decades.

Many parts are interchangeable, but some that look similar do not fit every model.

The ereplacement site has a feature that can help assist with determining interchangeability, even if the part is discontinued.

Having looked for over 3 years for a pre-Block wheel guard cover to complete my 1st CM grinder restore, I thought a thread dedicated to helping members locate a missing part needed for a restoration, etc ..., might be helpful.

I will start by listing, on separate pages, 4 recent Blocks I picked up.

I'm open to suggestions on how to proceed.

My thought is members post what they have and anyone interested reply with a post, then PM to work out the details.

I for 1 do not encourage posting of personal contact information: eMail, name, home address, phone number, ....

With that in mind, see the following 4 pages for the Blocks I have for parts, I will update the respective pages as parts are no longer available.

:)

The label is too faded to read the model number.

The PO had the foresight to it write on the top, even-though the 397.49430 should really be --> 397.19430.

Free* eye shield, for 1st order $10.00 and over. *If it fits in the flat rate for your other parts. I know, it's not pretty, but maybe it can be straightened. :dunno:

Thanks to all those who've responded.

I had a hick-up, but think I have restored everything.

If I have not returned an eMail or PM, please re-send.
