If you search ebay/mp look for an old airplane tug,I bought one years ago by mistake. They are battery powered and the one I got worked on hard pack and grass. I sold it to a guy for moving boats around he fabed a receiver on it, moved like 15k if I remember.

The vehicle won't be moved far. Maybe 50'. Just to cut grass or move items in the area Then put it back.

Car and trailer guys. Not just trailer.

Unless you reposition the car on the trailer, tongue weight is going to be a problem for most small equipment

Are we talking about a car ON a trailer, or just pulling a car OR trailer around? The statements above point toward the former, while the statement in the OP (below) point toward the latter.

At times I need to move a vehicle or small utility trailer empty and full about the grassy yard.

Skid steer works pretty well, too.

Eventually you don’t have to worry about the grass, either. It’ll
get all torn up then you can spread stone with the skid steer.

These things are $5 to $50k. Hardly $2k. I doubt if I'd want one that was.

A picture = 1000 words. Here's the yard. I've circled the trailer and badly sketched where the car will be. The car just needs to move forwards and back for now. As you can see by the driveway picture NO commercial equipment can be on it. Stamped concrete though I had a 6" pour done to support the F350 dually truck you see.

Hey, just trying to get an answer, as the comments thus far are not clear (see post #45). A riding mower might move a car or a trailer, but it isn't going to move a car on a trailer.

I know... It's just funny how a question can get ignored for so long

BTW, I move my 5x8 trailer around my 1 acre lot using my 1976 John Deere 210 Garden Tractor that you can find all day for less than $500.

Maybe if its wet, on dry ground no problem, I had an airplane tug, similar & it worked fine on grass or gravel. Sold to a guy for moving boats around a marina, not paved & he said it worked great. I would also want turf style tires so not to tear up the lawn.

build a garage and drive way to it. Might cost less or move to a place with a large barn.

Trailer OR car. Not both. From what I've read lawn tractors are good to tow 500-600 lbs or so. Not 3000.

Small tractor I think is the best option. I use a Kubota, but an older Ford or even a IHC Cub Lowboy. Something with a 3 point hitch makes it real easy.

Assuming the car rolls (no locked up brakes or flat tires), a lawn tractor should be able to move it back and forth in the spot you've shown us. An ATV would as well, and your truck definitely would.

I think I'm going to put that car where the truck is and move the truck to the street. The car is not going to stay too long. Maybe end of summer. Hopefully sooner.

Thanks for the good suggestions. A used ATV might work. It's small and with AWD might have the omph I need.

Lawn tractor vs 4 wheeler/ATV tug of war. It's all about who can get the torque to the ground.

I've seen these as I mentioned. I've only seen them on paved lots. For the trailer it would be great but towing a car? Hmmm, don't know about that as they need the/a weighted tongue.

I missed the moving a vehicle part. It would definitely not work to tow a car.
