Do you vacuum seal (process) your "canned" syrup?
I assume this syrup making is a "for profit" venture vs hobby?
Neat to see how it is done.
Not factoring in cost of material, wood.gas for atv any of that. Syrup sells for $10 a pint so say $300 if I sold it all. I have easy 30 hours into boiling so im making 10$ a hour. Take expense for supplies bucket liners.,jars,Tank of propane for fast fire starts, more like its 5$ a hour.
More of a hobby I guess i.might sell 10 to 15 pints. Rest will get used by family and friends. As barter for goods and services.
Some of my hours are just sitting in the shack making sure said shack dosent burn down from
The boil. First year of the shack had 2 walls on fire this year had the door post smoking from the wood stove. Poured water down post stopped smoking
Also making sure I don't run a pan out of sap and burn it up. Done that already a a well got busy talking to uncle outside of shack burnt up what was left of 15 gallons. It tasted burnt no saving that batch it got mixed in with the chicken feed the chickens bought it was great though.
