Last week I found one of those kneeling mats in the ditch. And it’s in basically new condition! Score!
I probably won’t use it much though, as I already have knee pads in the double front of my carhartt pants.

While out for our walk, the dogs and I happened upon this little Skil table saw sitting out on the sidewalk with a sign on it that said
FREE WORKS

We came back with the truck and loaded it up

If you look close at the second pic....it looks like Skil used a modified little circular saw for the motor assy :ROFLMAO:
Hey....Made in USA!

skil1.jpgskil2.jpg

We cleaned it up and gave it away to a friend
He was very happy

I would imagine that thing has to be pushing, if not over 40 years old. Great score.

Well, this has got to be my luck for the year... Driving home on a quiet suburban road and spot something shiny up against the curb.

Naturally, I cased the rest of the block to see if anything else had gotten bounced loose, but no. A little surface rust, so I think it'd been there a few days. A thorough de- and re-greasing (the oil inside smelled TERRIBLE) and it's working beautifully.

Now I just need to track down a fresh grip. Before I head to Ebay, anyone here have spare hard handles?

Have one just like that. It was a road find as well. Cheers!

A 20# R454B refrigerant bottle still weighing 15# was in the ditch around the corner from my house.
I have a mini split which calls for R410. Anyone know about this(R454B) as a replacement?

I have found a lot of tools over the years, including dozens of sockets. But, today was a first for me.
found tools 04082026 r.jpg

While driving home, about half a mile from the house, I spotted the large socket on the edge of the road, so, of course, I circled back to pick it up. When I picked it up, I looked around and discovered a 4-socket spill. I imagine someone was working on his car with a brand new socket set and placed the sockets in use on a fender, running board, etc and then jumped in the car for a test drive, not taking time to put the tools away first. Strange spill - 1/2 drive 17 mm and 9, 11, and 13 mm 3/8 drive.

The closest thing to a tool I've ever found in the road are nails and screws with my tires. I did have a rear blowout a month or so ago; jammed a hammer on each side of a front tire to keep the van from rolling when I jacked it up. Someone found a 16 ounce Estwing claw hammer and a 24 ounce Vaughn ball peen on the side of I-35 because I drove away without them.

doesn't make up for losing a nice 1/4 icon ratchet with a 10mm craftsman on it i lost working on our pilot. the universe gives & takes
What a happy weekend. I found my lost icon & 10mm! It fell into a rarely used drawer at the bottom of one of my toolboxes. Cleaning up from multiple projects this weekend lead to its happy return to the 1/4" drawer.

Got a bluepoint 3/8 ratchet that had looked like it was in a box that got wet. Covered with surface rust but a good wipe down with wd40 a rag and small piece of 0000 steel wool and we're good to go. took the head apart and gave it a healthy spray in there as well. Always interesting what you see out on trash night sometimes while walking the dog.
