orNeed any cases? I got a bunch of unused cased that i don't know what to do with. I believe they are the right cases for that style
I have like 14 left lol so it won't even make a dent ha. I already have a pile of those anyway. Just not really a priority. I think I still have 2 left with the carb o mang label. I have seen those do pretty decent completeor
Do you need these sockets for your empty cases?

I think you might have better luck tracking down the flex head ratchet in the box. What decade does this set date to? Box says #409 on it.
No markings on the breaker, only on the socketsI think you might have better luck tracking down the flex head ratchet in the box.
I found a 4097 box in 1940s or 50s, but nothing with three digits.
My bad, I thought that was a goofy ratchet that looks like a flex head if you don't look closely, which was my mistake. No markings on the breaker, only on the sockets
Perhaps a number has been rubbed of on the box? This is the 4097 4098 which looks close.

That’s what I was thinking, but your other 3 digits are nice and clear, so I wasn’t convinced.Perhaps a number has been rubbed of on the box?

-Donnice set of toolsHere is most of my S-K tool collection. The large box was purchased new in 1953 by a friend of mine who passed away late last year. I found a similar looking box in my 1936 Baker & Hamilton hardware catalog, with a P/N of 4000. Mine has a P/N of 4010R, and I have yet find an old 1950's S-K catalog so I can check the Inventory of it. Does Anyone have any old 50's-60's S-K Catalogs?
Wayne
When did the boxes get the side ears that prevent boxtop overbite? That is a #4097 set dated 1938 or slightly earlier. I don’t know why your 7 is missing and there isn’t a 1937 catalog to consult. The indicators of age is that the sockets are all 12 or 8 point and I assume marked S-K Chrome. Here is mine which doesn’t have a decal. The prewar or wartime flex handles are unmarked.

Looks like 1/4" & 3/8" drive set. The ones I have found have 3/8" drive tools and adapter for 1/4" and a spinner handle.
It measure's 2" x 3 1/2" x 17", which is bigger than a 1/4" & 3/8" set. I am pretty sure it is a 1/2" & 1/4" set, but I was trying to figure out what else went into it.Looks like 1/4" & 3/8" drive set. The ones I have found have 3/8" drive tools and adapter for 1/4" and a spinner handle.
Look at that price sticker! $11.95 for a set of tools!
I feel your pain. I don't have any of the bits you need, still trying to assemble a set of deep metric sockets in 3/8" from the Dresser Industries era. And my nephew needs a set of metric shallows AND deeps to round out his starter vintage S-K set.Does anyone have an S-K Wayne 45116 1/2" 6-point shallow 3/8" drive socket they'll part with?
- same era as the 45118 in the pics.
...also an S-K Wayne 45170 3/8" ratchet and 45160 3" 3/8" drive extension. (I know - pushing my luck...)
Thanks.
It's all out there - somewhere! I still have some energy for digging through the flea markets, junk stores, tag sales, etc.I feel your pain. I just keep thinking what my dad used to say: "If you want something, keep looking. Keep your eyes open, keep scrounging, keep searching. Eventually you'll find what you want for a price you're willing to pay".
it can be hard to get motivated to dig through a pile of random sockets, especially if they're in a container on the ground, since I'm old and don't bend in the middle any more!
I think the longer one was made to include a breaker bar. This was one that was for sale on eBay that I used as a guide for the one I have.
