What kind of tools have you found in the road??

Yesterday, I found a 6’ Werner fiberglass step ladder that has a few scuff marks but otherwise okay and later in the day a Kobalt 12mm combo wrench.

Walking the hood this past weekend I found a Milwaukee impact with battery and star drive bit in the middle of the road. Well-used, but working fine. I don't have Milwaukee stuff...walked another 50 feet or so with it in hand and low and behold to my left was a neighbor (that I don't know) with his hatchback open, with a ton of tools - including a bunch of Milwaukee - inside. Showed him what I had found, and he was super thankful for the return. Feel-good moment. Also, his dog almost bit me!

I guess this doesn’t really count as a “find.” Last week I was at a red light behind a pickup with its tailgate down. When the light turned green the truck started accelerating and a table saw slid off the back of the truck into the middle of an intersection on Route 70 in Jersey.

I have found a lot of tools over the years, but today's find was one of the strangest I have had.
As found.
After a bit of cleaning. I found this in the gutter while walking home. Missing 2 bits. What makes the find strange to me is who would be working out of their vehicle with a router and leave the set where it could fall out? Plus, the plastic case is not damaged. And why would anyone have a router bit set out in the road even if they had been working on a project in their drive?

Might have been. I would have thought that any fall of a couple of feet or more would have damaged the hard plastic case. I found this a few blocks from home in an area I regularly drive, bicycle, or walk through (several times a week). I have never observed any home woodworking shops in this area or any recent home renovations. On another note, after cleaning up, I started looking closer and discovered the set is complete and no signs of wear on any of the contents.
How far was the find location from the closest HF? Maybe he just left that on top of the vehicle when coming out of the store, and it eventually fell off?

It is definitely tool finding season around here.
A pair of Rapala fishermans pliers was my Sunday morning find. That brings the total for the last 6 weeks to 1 pliers, 5 sockets, and 13 router bits.
