But here is my latest.
Unless I am mistaken, a Type 01 (of an astounding 18 different types)!

I already congrats'ed you - and coaxed you here from the GS thread, but don't miss the riveting Report half of these tandem threads. It's just one of the many examples of the many kinds of tools-inspired, collector-supported, and supercollector-generated analytic information products that can only be found right here on GJ!

Absolutely correct. RagTopTA did manage to land an elusive Plomb Type 01 (and in impecable shape) for a very sweet price! The skewing on the front and back stamps is very curious as I have never seen that before on this early of a piece, but then I'm finding that I often see something new all the time. Things would be pretty boring if we had it all figured out and didn't learn anything new.

This one seems less likely, but he was close by briefly.
Thanks for those. I didn't know either of these gentlemen, unfortunately. Both lived interesting lives. Most of my tools had previous owners, and I like knowing the history behind them, if possible. This one came with a small lot of tools from a GJ member, I think from Oregon.

Oops, I added Calif, and Eastern Sierra towns. Lemme try Oregon later.

I'm late to the party, but here are the five that I own, all bought in a Proto splurge a few years ago. The two bright finish ones had seen hard use, so I did dress the ends.20260208_174645.jpg

Corrected, are you Don Schlogel?
No, just a member. Here are my examples. I have carried the Oceanside Supply since I won it at a grand opening in Newport, Oregon about 1973. I got the other one recently at a local auction for about $10.
