We got a few things crossed off the hunny do list. First one was building a pad for the pool so it didn’t have to be on the patio again all summer.
IMG_6520.jpeg

That turnt out decent so since the yard was all screwed up we tackled a few other things as well.
IMG_6523.jpeg

Boom. Fire pit is placed in a granite slab to make it easy to trim around.
IMG_6526.jpeg

More granite slabs are placed to be used as bases for corn hole boards.
IMG_6528.jpeg

May as well stay on theme and make granite corn hole boards. This was a justification project to defend the “What do you need all those tools for!?” statements. “Well dear I can use my own stuff instead of renting it. Sort of handy isn’t it that I can do projects for you on a moments notice !!”
IMG_6536.jpeg

250lbs each. Ain’t no one moving these :lol_hitti

That ******** set is awesome! Nice work.

Good to see you are getting to fly your new drone.

It should pay for itself in no time so you can buy a Jetson or similar brand to fly around in it and check out your stuff in person.

Nice looking ******** game. Do you use real corn in the bags in minny so da?

I thought you’d have a horseshoe pit like we had growing up at our uncle’s farm.

Have a grand weekend

Thanks !! I think they rock.

The drone has been a good thing so far and I hope will be able to turn some serious profit. They make units you can ride on already lol. I’m toying with getting an NDVI drone to be able to do crop scouting but a decent one is close to $10k so we’ll see what happpens.

Absolutely real corn !! It’s call ******** so the corn needs to go in the hole lol.

I haven’t thought of a horseshoe pit !! That may have to be added somehow here.

Love the granite corn hole boards! :ROFLMAO:
Thanks !!

Mama Bears was gonna make a set of bags at some point and make them out of old pants or something filled with corn of course.

A while back, I was at garage sales and started buying the cheap bean babies, I believe we now have the lions, tigers and bears (oh my) for ********. Adds a different dimension.......
Ya know, that’s a fantastic idea !! Any chance you have a pail full we can drag home sometime soon 😂

Really looking forward to a road trip !!

Are you going to polish the granite for the boards or leave them as is?
She who must be obeyed says they need to be smooth. The guy she wants to have polish them says they’re fine. I told her when I got a chance I’d polish them a bit. Until then they can look like they do 😂

Thanks for stopping by !!

I went and scouted the oats I sprayed a while back to see how good the weed kill was and I was quite impressed.
IMG_6585.jpeg

This is a strip I left that was right next to some soybeans that would have been killed if they got sprayed with the same stuff. Lots more weeds here !!
IMG_6584.jpeg

Hot and humid and I’m in the mobile air conditioned command center spraying 1st pass on some corn acres.
IMG_6568.jpeg

90’ at a time blasting weeds to Jupiter.
IMG_6569.jpeg

The weather was perfect for spraying so pops and I both went at it at the same time.
IMG_6571.jpeg

I’ve never planted sunflowers before but I think that’s a sunflower !!
IMG_6572.jpeg

Back to the small farming tasks. Tillered up the new lawn area again to break up clumps and make a nice seed bed. The guy I snagged the tiller from when he wasn’t home noticed it was gone and wants it back :lol_hitti
IMG_6574.jpeg

I brought the tiller back with my lawnmower and snagged his with the seeder that was already attached. Sort of handy having a tractor for each attachment. I highly recommend it !!
IMG_6578.jpeg

Time to lay down some grass seed !!
IMG_6576.jpeg

These little farming projects are more work than the big ones lol. No autosteer or AC in the tiller or seeding rigs 😂

the little farming is a project that I got on my horizon, I'm sure it's easier using those machines then it is doing it by hand! LOL

I spied some 4x4” galvanized tubing in the weeds at the local recycling center and asked about it and here it is. Gonna use it as legs on the binzebo I’ve committed to build for Mama Bear once I gathered all the pieces. I’ve about got them all gathered so I may as well get started …… or so she says :lol_hitti
IMG_6602.jpeg

Pops, the little guy and I got the steer barn cleaned out again. It always looks so nice in there when the pens are cleaned and completely fresh bedding covers the floor.
IMG_6600.jpeg

I’ve been messing with a few things on the redneck drone trailer. I added a drip catch bucket by the charger to keep the fill hose in to contain any drips while the drone is flying. I also added a 55gal barrel to have more fresh water on hand for rinsing things out.
IMG_6620.jpeg

I got this grill from a buddy 16yrs ago and it’s sat unused for the most part for the last 12 so I decided to bring it up to the shop and use it to make lunch and such. Leo and I spent an hour cleaning it up and fired up to burn off all the crud.
IMG_6633.jpeg

The ol gal still puts out the heat !!
IMG_6630.jpeg

Tossed some frozen hot dogs and chicken legs on to break it back in.
IMG_6631.jpeg

Definitely a few hot spots but that’s to be expected as the heat shields are mostly rotten lol.
IMG_6635.jpeg

I think I’m gonna like this thing up here !!
IMG_6636.jpeg

We decided to do a movie night since it was hot and sweaty and it was a balmy 65f upstairs. We’ve started in on the Marvel movies.
IMG_6622.jpeg

Since it was still hot and sweaty the little guy and I set about to give the shoffice a through cleaning starting with the kitchen area. I quite like how turnt out. No before picture but imagine the counter full of random junk and the cabinets so full you can move anything around without making it all fall out.
IMG_6637.jpeg

Ended that day by making some pork chops, potatoes and carrots on the “new” grill.

Its surprising how often people throw a grill away just because it needs a good cleaning and an AA battery for the ignitor.

Speaking of, I need to clean my grill,
The igniter is 100% shot lol. I use a long nosed lighter thing to light it up and it works fine.

People throw away all kinds of good things for a lack of wanting or knowing how to fix them.

If you have Prime— there is a great show called Clarkson’s Farm. Season 5 episode 3 is all about technology in farming. Really cool stuff— kept expecting you to show up on the episode!!
We’re working our way through Season 4 at the moment. Seeing the challenges they have to deal with makes me appreciate how things are here. The amount of govt involvement here pales in comparison to what they deal with.

Love Clarkson's Farm and this blog! Season 5 episode 3 is great!! Jeremy might have finally done something right!
Thanks for the kind words !!

A high school buddy who grew up out here in farm country but is VERY much a city boy got me into Clarkson's farm and we talked about it yesterday actually. He commented about the same episode while we were bringing his new lawnmower home. He is gonna come out in the next few days and I’m gonna show him the drone and we’re gonna spray some water on the corn field by my house so he can see it work.

Brand new S140 Deere. He debated which one to get for a few weeks and we talked it through in more ways than I thought possible for a $3900 “tractor” but he’s stoked to “put it to work farming his lawn”. We cut with it for a bit and it worked great and sucked up some plenty wet grass which surprised me.

There was a hyd oil puddle under the 7630 and the logical place to start was in the cab. Leo vacuumed the floor off so we could remove it.
IMG_6672.jpeg

Floor is out !!
IMG_6677.jpeg

Oh look. A floor hole.
IMG_6673.jpeg

The 2nd line from the top is leaking down below. Another smart guy named Mike at Midwest Machinery in Sauk Centre told me where the unseen end was. Found it !!
IMG_6674.jpeg

Old green line, new not green line.
IMG_6675.jpeg

Again with the hose machine. Love this thing !!
IMG_6676.jpeg

I got the hose in and received this picture with the caption “why is there corn in my garden !? Tee hee.
IMG_6678.jpeg

Pops got the bulk tank by the irrigator well !!
IMG_6681.jpeg

Whilst scouting fields it was discovered that a tree so rudely decided to fall into my corn field. WTF tree !?
IMG_6683.jpeg

Leo and I relocated it back into the tree line.
IMG_6684.jpeg

Whilst scouting more fields I thought this was a neat pic so I took it. And now you can have it as well !!
