2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

So I cleaned up the swivels, went through my spares and "need" a 3/4" 6 point =v= series. When I say "need" it only means I'm not pulling one from another set to complete this one. I may have to sneak off to the local flea market tomorrow A.M. before cutting the grass.

Biggest I have is 5/8” sorry. I’ll keep my eye out.

A decent day despite the Col Flea being a bust. Yard sales made up for it but I started after that with a Freecycle PU for an 8" high "stepper" I'll use as a camp side step into the side door, a reflective triangle and 2 bid pieces of reflective stuff I use to make better windshield screens (I hate the accordion one I have in the van)








First producing YS was Cratex wheels for $2:





Then an Estates sale 2nd and final 1/2 off day (I missed the first half off day) $12 for a 2 drawer intermediate same size as a 20" Kennedy - partially full and I found the keys! Very happy at $12

Lots of drills:





A short pick jig saw blades 2 screw starters a welding striker, and the dykes turned out to be Klein.





I missed a really long drill in the back of a drawer, then the red devil scraper, and a SS tape measure in inch and CM 200 CM long.





Another YS I got the jar og anchors for the heavy washers, and the driver is an early Plvmb Amber grip: A buck





Another YS - A buck for the Ulster Scout knife - nicer that my other Ulster, but the lanyard loop is MIA, and $2 for the reast - Glass knobs, and a can opener.





And last stop a regular and got a bunch of good ones from his "junk pile" - Blackhawk, Proto LA X3, Plvmb, Herbrand, Bridgeport:

Unfortunately, I don't see anything anywhere other than the "patented and pats applied for" on the metal tag.

We had to stop and take some pictures of this potential treasure we spotted as we drove by a yard in Minden.
I had to make sure that it wasn’t the one we sold a few decades back but it was just a look alike. My wife commuted in hers for over 100,000 miles after I restored it.

Thats a pretty solid looking Lakewood in the yard but looks a bit overpriced? but if its truly rust free, I could see it being worth that.

Slow day at the market, not a ton of vendors even on a nice day. I did get 1 thing though a nice Thorsen 1218 socket set. I think it’s missing a few pieces but not sure yet. Sockets are
5/8 - 1-1/4 and don’t look used. $15 deal

MrsLS had packed up a few cubic feet of basement clutter, so at 04:30 we took it to Jake’s Flea Mkt to sell. After we set up, I did a recon of the field and picked up a few things to refill the void.
My first purchase was some SS flatware reminiscent of my grandmother’s Impassa Japan atomic starburst set (which I have… somewhere), partially addressing one of two problems. ALL the knives (even ones I’ve seen on eBay) have a crack in the blade between the logo stamp and the handle, which I take to be a manufacturing issue. These knives don’t share that flaw. (The unaddressed problem is that the ice tea spoons, of which she was inordinately proud, and her three sisters inordinately jealous, were missing from her home when we emptied it.)
I could make out “cast steel” on the hack saw frame, so I knew it was old. As I hoped, turned out to be Henry Disston & Sons Philada USA.
Champion quilt frame clamp. Craftsman 1/4dr deep. Unmarked brick pointer. Challenger 1/4dr spinner. Wm Hjorth Jamestown NY “AUTO” bent nose pliers, Easco stubby Phillips. Vacuum-Grip Newport battery pliers, Snap-on tiny dikes, Utica slipjoints, France duckbill box joint pliers (with more mfr stamps I haven’t deciphered). Unbranded No1 concrete seamer. Bonney 6” Stillson and 31/32” 6pt socket. $12 for everything, plus we netted ten times that on stuff we sold.

Estate sale ($15): Skipper pond boats - 21" Blue Water and a 12" Estuary (Millennium 2000)

There used to be Sunday regattas of those on the casting pool of Westmoreland Park in Portland, OR. Always fun to watch. Skipperless, uncrewed boat racing--what could possibly go wrong?

Anybody have a guess on spike hammer? Forged so no markings but all I see is a great coconut cracker or a mini ship maul/spike maul.
