My neighbors in Austin included: one of the worst congressmen in America, Alex Jones, Jesse James, and guy that invented the fleshlight... Don't google that... or do, I'm not your mother. Point being, the fleshlight guy and I were like beacons of sanity in a sea of insanity.

Moving away from that nonsense feels pretty good if I'm being honest. I don't know my new neighbors yet, but they must be an upgrade.
That's what your problem was Ryan. Even Houston with all it's faults is an upgrade from Austin. We moved from Houston in 1980, and I'll still consider it better than Austin to this day. :ROFLMAO:

On the topic of neighbors though... I'm on that Neighborhood App... Texas was a nonstop parade of grown adults losing their minds over the dumbest goddamn nonsense imaginable.
That was my experience as well, the people posting in my neighborhood were obsessed with the most inconsequential things. For whatever reason the app stopped sending me alerts, which saved me from having to figure out how to turn it off myself.

Love Boulder. Have road-tripped there from Los Angeles and back 4x. UC Boulder in the spring is maybe the most beautiful campus I've ever seen. Also have a cousin in Frisco with a fully restored 63 split window (original owner!). Though it is a bit too dry for my skin, and I do get altitude sickness for a day or 2 every time I go.

Yeah, the space is dark... and sort of gross... I guess it was a CrossFit place before I took it over.

A little paint and a little light and it will feel much better...
Fully agree, first major wow factor is lighting. Then some fresh paint on the walls and some epoxy on the floor, and it'll look like a whole new place.

In the only town in Pennsylvania, Bloomsburg.
Denver traffic isn't nearly as bad as Austin's... Thankfully, Boulder just doesn't have traffic.
Yes a great relief once your able to drive again. My issue was NYC's quota system and traffic cameras. Up here you get an award if you get a ticket, so far this year no one has gotten one. ;) Really though the police are great wonderful here, unless your reckless they leave you alone and are here to help not make money.

Oh… don’t fret fellas… I’m gonna annoy the absolute **** out of all of you by over posting as I build this space out.

Sadly, I have to do the office space first so I can make a living.
You mean to tell me you're not independently wealthy and have to work in an office? You can't build, break, burn up or weld stuff in a office. You've assembled a quarter of a million wandering home garage people and we need direction and pictures. Get after it. LMAO

Hey Ryan, Congrats on successfully escaping Austin for the snowier climes of Boulder!! :drink:

I am irrationally excited. I know the grass Is ALWAYS greener.... but man, in the five days I've been here, it sure feels good... despite the fact that I'm living in a house half the size of my old one with only a blow up mattress for furniture, have no shop to work out of, and an office that looks like an abandoned meth lab...

Things are looking up!

Family and cars get here today... Moving truck tomorrow.

Congratulations on the move and new World HQ, Ryan! I have been following some of the discussion on the HAMB and your comments about downsizing really hit home. I did a bit of a purge of my own over the weekend. That's still a work in progress, but the idea of my stuff owning me has been given a lot of thought over the past few days.

It’s so weirdly liberating to get rid of stuff…

We did a pretty good purge when we had to move twice back in '23. Still I was going through stuff a while back, and thinking I didn't remember moving all this ****, but then haven't been here long enough to collect it all. I'll be retiring in Dec so next year I'll have plenty of time to unload a lot.

Congrats on the change Boss. Change is good.

Congrats on purging Ryan. My wife & I did a major purge of our stuff when we moved 5 years ago. If we have not used the item in the last few years, it is gone. We got rid of a lot of stuff that way.

YOU ARE CORRECT!
But you can get new stuff. I did a massive clean-out sell-off, give-away when we ladst moved and it was only across town a little bit.

We got some new stuff.

Still better though.
Congrats on your new move.
