Oh… don’t fret fellas… I’m gonna annoy the absolute **** out of all of you by over posting as I build this space out.

Sadly, I have to do the office space first so I can make a living.
Happy to see that nice ducting on the ceiling. Hopefully blows cold for summer

So, I’m guessing some floor coating, wall covering, vehicle lift and a retune of the Porsche to accommodate the change in altitude. Hot rods and electric vehicles will be OK. What is your vehicle list these days? What made the cut and will be in the new shop? And what are you now shopping for “so you fit in”!

If the place in Texas was the original HQ, this is the new HQ, what do you call your place in Hawaii ? Atomic Outpost ?

Waiting for all build out...

The APO... Atomic Pacific Outpost. Because of the move, I will not be going home to Hawaii this summer and it's very, very hard to deal with emotionally. But, you will have to pry the APO from my cold, dead hands.

Exciting times!

What made you decide to leave the Lone Star State for Colorado?

Because the bastards finally found the address, and a man in my position doesn't wait around to see what they do with it...

I am downsizing to simplify life. I want a smaller footprint and less **** that owns me... So, all I have here is the Rivian, my little Porsche race car, and my model-a coupe.

Two recreational vehicles, max, from here on out... That's the number and I'm sticking to it like a tick on a hound. Anything more is just clutter with a title and an insurance bill.

And you only visualized half of it. ;)

That is so true... The space is pretty rough, but I like the area. We bought a home in Boulder, but I'm renting this space for work and cars. I did a 2 year lease as I eventually plan to build a smaller space behind our home to further downsize. And I am really, really excited about that.

Just remember: You can run, but you can’t hide.

Our two places are 2100 miles apart. In addition to cameras, I’m relying on good neighbors for “security “, if there is such a thing. That plus insurance.

If something does happen, I’ll roll with the punches. It’s just stuff, after all.

My neighbors in Austin included: one of the worst congressmen in America, Alex Jones, Jesse James, and guy that invented the fleshlight... Don't google that... or do, I'm not your mother. Point being, the fleshlight guy and I were like beacons of sanity in a sea of insanity.

Moving away from that nonsense feels pretty good if I'm being honest. I don't know my new neighbors yet, but they must be an upgrade.

Boulder proper? and you didnt need to sell the Porsche, nice.

We bought a 100 year old house, a genuine fixer-upper, sitting in a neighborhood so good it borders on obscene. Got it for a price that made no sense at all, on account of some peculiar circumstances I won't lay out here... The man might be listening, and some stories are better left in the dark where they belong.

Definitely sounds like an escape to sanity.

Best wishes!

On the topic of neighbors though... I'm on that Neighborhood App... Texas was a nonstop parade of grown adults losing their minds over the dumbest goddamn nonsense imaginable. The online equivalent of some red-faced geezer screaming "Get off my lawn!" at a paperboy, except it never stopped, day or night, an endless barrage of petty grievance.

Boulder is a different animal entirely. Here's the last notification email, word for word:

"Anyone wanna hit Chautauqua with me? Sort of scared of bears..."

"Have an extra parking pass for the hood if anyone needs it"

"OMG. Carol. I'm sorry." (Dug into this one and found some woman had cut off Carol at an intersection and was publicly begging forgiveness for it)

"Headed to Ikea. Anyone need anything?"

That's the whole transmission. Bears, parking passes, and public penance for a bad merge. A different species of neighbor altogether.

We, or rather my wife, have that App in the far NW Tucson suburbs.

The only one I recall, other than reports of an occasional rattle snake in the street APB, or havalena in the road, is the lady on the next street over freaking out when the garbage truck burst a hydraulic hose in front of her house.

No big deal, as the garbage company had a guy cleaning up within an hour, and the next day a pressure washer crew finished the job.

Congrats on the move.

CO is awesome for many reasons. Traffic aint one of them; DEN and environs are doing their absolute best to emulate LA and Orange counties. Fortunately, Bolder is close to great roads, sans crazy traffic, to exercise the teutonic toys.

My son lives in Boulder, and we used to do a lot of work between Golden and the Eisenhower tunnel., plus in Woodland Park, down near “the Springs”.

I can’t deal with the thin air anymore though, so we tend to limit our exposure.

Darn, sounds like a good story good for more than 100 replies. :)

Boulder only has black bears, they are more scared of humans then humans are of bears. Have one here, visits every week or two, sniffs my bed room window to see if I am home, hates my mini split fan noise.

Was In Boulder once, beautiful. Just looked up the yearly weather very nice. Good luck

I can see a huge vision. But man, does that look depressing (for the amount of work you're going to be putting in)

Denver traffic isn't nearly as bad as Austin's... Thankfully, Boulder just doesn't have traffic.

Yeah, the space is dark... and sort of gross... I guess it was a CrossFit place before I took it over.

A little paint and a little light and it will feel much better...
